I have these in many calibers. Take them to the range and use them at home. Make barrel cleaning a snap.

Super fast and easy to use. Use some good Hoppe's combo oil/cleaner and get after it. I don't shoot my rifle that much each year and this is more than enough to keep the barrel tip top. Less than five minutes to use and put back up.

I have bore snakes if a number of different handgun, rifle and shotgun calibers, and really like them for their simplicity, portability and reasonable effectiveness. They don’t replace a rod and jag for deep cleaning, but a minute or two are enough to quickly clean and lubricate a barrel after or during a shooting session. So picking up this bore snake for my new Ruger Precision Rifle in .338 Lapua Magnum was a logical choice for me.I did run into an issue with the bore snake initially being extremely difficult to pull through the barrel — I can see why other people have complained about this and even broke their bore snakes when attempting to use force. Instead of trying to pull the bore snake through the barrel using excessive force, I pulled it back out from the chamber using the loop end and took a closer look at the rear half of the bore snake. The snake is multi-layered with the pull cord at the center and soft material intended to clean and provide a snug fit surrounding it. Pulling on the loop end unevenly can cause the material of the snake to scrunch up, increasing the diameter and making it difficult to pull the bore snake through the barrel. A bit of manipulation of that section between my thumb and index finger and pulling on the loop end eliminated the scrunched-up material. Having done that, this bore snake is no more difficult to pull through the barrel than any of my others.I do wish this came in a hard plastic case with a pull handle like some other models.

I bought this for a 338 Lapua and it got stuck in the barrel and the pull cord broke what a piece of junk. The original BoreSnake has been great in my 5.56mm, my 308, my 6.5 Creedmoor but this new VIPER is garbage.
