This is my third skimmer basket adapter to allow me use suction side robot cleaner that requires hose attachment to the skimmer. I chose this because the plexiglass is slightly thicker than the previous ones which broke because of intake pressure variations. I have a feeling this will last more than two years. The previous ones lasted about 2-2.5 years each and they were about 10% higher than this. If there is a change in my views I will come back and give an update Otherwise all is good.

After 2 Pentaire units experienced cracking on the clear separator plate, I decided to try an off brand and hope I get maybe 3-4 years from it. The design of these has a structural weakness where the screws attach the weir assembly to the clear plate. Over time, this area cracks due to suction of the pool intake and chemistry of pool water. Only had this a little over a month but so far skimmer and pool vac are working good from this unit.

This was a simple fix, just replacing the basket because the original basket was cracked and broken. I thought I might also need to replace some parts on the moving suction head, but haven't had to do so yet. These parts came with the basket, but I'm keeping them, hoping I won't ever need them.
