i am very disappointed as i was really excited to try this call. it was a really cool idea, but unfortunately very poorly executed. the slate section was obviously cut too small and they decided to just use it anyway. so now there is about an eighth of an inch wide, inch long gap along one side of that section (andd smaller gap on the other side) where you just see clumps of glue which are holding nothing at all since the surface that should have been there is missing. there is also a giant chunk missing from the wooden striker. i didnt buy this for the strikers, but really?? I'm not sure how clearly either shows in photos, but this is no small imperfection that could be forgiven. there is no way you dont notice this if you have any degree of quality control in place. it all still seems to work, but of course i dont have a quality controlled version to compare it to. that said, i have other slate calls and the slate section on here does not sound anywhere as good as my others. i had never used aluminum though, and i do like the way that section sounds, so i guess i'll give this one star just for that.

Good entry level call. The wood striker makes good contact and produces accurate calls. The other striker is very hard to get a decent call with.

Works great. Tried other calls and this one we got our first Turkey within 30 minutes. Very realistic. Tom Turkey couldn’t resist.

I've been hunting for 60 years &turkey hunting has always been my favorite time in the woods. When I was starting out Quaker Boy was pretty much the dominate name for all types of calls ,and reasonably priced. I still have every 1 of those calls & they still bring the birds in. When I saw this call on Amazon I had to have it. Unfortunately this 1 didn't live up to Dick Kirby standards , the sounds were muddy & didn't carry and believe me I tried every striker in my extensive collection ,then I tried the provided striker on my other slates & they worked just fine. In my opinion by trying 4 a triple they struck out. The surfaces are just 2 small.

the call is soft, always have to recondition the slate and aluminum. Not worth the money, buy something else. Basically, you're just buying the strikers.
