Threads strip in the valve compressing part, covers cylinder head in fine metal dust. Tool needed to be repaired by cutting the threat twice while trying to disassemble 2 cylinder heads.

I'm an older seasoned automotive technician, I'm reviewing this product based on my many years of experience in the field using high quality tools, and equipment. If you have worked on modern Hemi engines, then you know that break valve springs occasionally. This spring compressor makes the job of valve spring replacement a lot easier and every Hemi mechanic should have one. Well built tool, but did not come with any instructions that would assist the novice or young automotive technician. Price point is considered reasonable for this item.

Worked as it should. The ball in the end of the forcing screw is a nice touch.If you were doing valve springs with the head off, I would think a regular valve spring tool might be easier BUT on the vehicle, this tool is the needed magic.Seems well built and has a black oxide finish. I would oil the finish to keep it from surface rusting in storage. The black oxide helps but it is not a rust proof finish.
