This iodine ointment was strongly recommended by a family member's Foot Doctor. She was kind enough to send me the link for this particular one.My family member has frequent "blow outs, or blisters on feet and legs, that burst and must be tended to until they heal. For reference the water is due to one kidney/9-11. The feet and legs can swell and this is the result. The iodine ointment according to the Dr. strengthens the skin around the wound for healing. The ointment is so clean to work with and is easy to apply. It is iodine and can stain, so we cover/bandage and keep it under wraps in check. The ointment blows away the liquid betadine I was using, because it's simply not a fluid.Good healing properties/anti-bacterial and ease of storage & application makes me glad for my relative that I care for, to have a really solid and proven product in our arsenal of care for them

Appears to be identical to the Vaseline iodine product I used to buy years ago. I like it in the tube form. Once applied to the skin it looks very red so you can tell the difference between it and some other kind of grease that you might put on a wound. The key point is that it's not clear. This is a great item to put in a camping medical kit over to have in your bag when traveling where you might be dealing with cuts and abrasions.

So much easier to apply to areas instead of the liquid. So glad I bought this.

I have grandchildren and they are always injuring themselves, resulting in cuts and scrapes. My husband is on a blood thinner and he constantly has skin injuries. It is important to have an iodine based antiseptic in your medicine cabinet, especially if you have kids. Based on my medical background, this is a high quality product and it is made in the USA. I gave my friend a tube and she is using it on her Mom's bed sores. I highly recommend this product!

I recently cut my foot at a local waterpark and got a bacteria infection. After my doctor recommended it, I got this paste and it helped clear up the infection much more quickly than other medical creams. I'll definitely be keeping a tube for future use, just be aware that its dark color can stain towels, carpet, etc., if you put it on a cut and don't bandage it.

Dr. Radow’s povidone-iodine antiseptic ointment is a must-have addition to your first aid kit to prevent an infection in a cut, wound or abrasion. I am a urologist and urological surgeon and routinely used povidone-iodine in solution form to prepare and sterilize one’s skin prior to any surgical procedure. The beauty of povidone-iodine is its broad spectrum of anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and anti-fungal activity. The World Health Organization considers it an essential medicine. In this worrisome time of resistant super-bugs, e.g., MRSA (methicillin resistant staph aureus), VRE (vancomycin-resistant enterococcus) and ESBL (extended spectrum beta lactamase) infections, this product is a blessing.
