Our old masher had Teflon on it that had been flaking off. We've gotten rid of all of our plastic utensils due to concerns about all of the crap that leaches out, so this replaced the old masher. It works far better too.

I was hoping this masher would be a nice quality made tool. The handle is nicely made and the metal used is of a good quality. It’s just like the one my grandmother used. Hers lasted for years! Still have it at my other house. Very happy with this purchase. It was exactly what I hoped for. Easy to clean, perfect size, easy to use for mashed potatoes.

Sturdy product overall, I really like the handle. I have small hands and it was very comfortable to use. The problem was that it's not very thorough. I mashed for a good 5 minutes and it was still pretty clumpy throughout.It's actually easier to mash with a whisk and blend from there, but I digress. This is a good product, I think it will work better when used on flat surfaces instead of in a bowl.
