Works great, used it for an outdoor application on an open deck stairway. We are very pleased.

Looks nice. The middle part should be reimagined. We keep hurting ourselves on it.

Replaced with our old wooden one. This one is perfect. Not only the quality, easy to clean with just wipes. Even kids are leaning on it, it doesn’t move- very sturdy.

I hung it from the joists behind the drywall of the sloped ceiling in the attic above my shop. The brackets are made of heavy aluminum and there are two end caps with the 5’ length. There are 3 (~16”) sections to make the first 48”, then a shorter 5th piece to go on the end to extend the length to 60”. Since 60” is not equally divisible by 16, I had to stopp at the 48” mark to ensure joist contact. There is just enough clearance for the hangers to be hung. This particular rail is sturdy enough to hold a large number of clothes at that width.As far as using it as a stair-rail, I recently installed a pine wall rail on the staircase in the shop. I would much rather have purchased the same length of this railing as (since it comes with brackets) it is as inexpensive as pine but feels much stronger. This is a stair-rail people could use with confidence if mounted securely.MARKETING vs REALITY GRADE: B (images may leave one with the impression there is a middle bracket with the 5’ length, but text does clearly state otherwise; a detail I missed)MOST SUITABLE FOR: functional staircase rails, or clothes hanger rod (?)IS IT WORTH IT?: Definitely. We recently went to the parade of homes in our area. We saw the trend of black round pipe for many of the house's stairs.So we are right in the trend since we're using black accents in the house we're remodeling.I do like to get our own hardware that is heavy duty because often times the stuff that comes with them isn't the best quality.We're about done with the remodel and the railings look great!
