Mantle looked as advertised, but arrived without the hanger board to mount it. The only option for product support was to contact the manufacturer, which I did. Their email said because it was purchased through Amazon, they would SELL me a hanger board for $35, charge me $40 to ship it, and I’d be invoiced through PayPal which charges a 4% fee. When I called, they told me it’s out of stock and there was nothing they could do anyway.They’ll have mine back in their inventory shortly, but beware if you buy it through Amazon and plan on mounting it anywhere. Pearl Mantles couldn’t care less about helping you.

We ordered this mantle to adhere to fire codes. It only come s with the brace, NO hardware to install it. They ask that you consult a professional. So we contacted an engineer who said there would be no way to properly install it without significant potential damage the to walls and surrounding area. Be mindful. It is very heavy.

DO NOT PURCHASE!! Building codes required us to purchase a non-conbustible mantel. We purchased this Pearl Mantel and within a couple weeks of using our wood fireplace the mantel literally started coming apart! We had just installed the rock work when we noticed the lower edge of the mantel is splitting and coming apart. The manufacture only wants to refund us a fraction of what we paid which is a joke because to remove the defective mantel and rock it would cost thousands of dollars! They are not backing their product and at this point Amazon is not stepping up either. It's looking like we are going to have to take legal action!
