I will be sending this back. It is NOT lightweight. It weighs the same as my Yamaha HS740 (best HH stand in the industry) medium weight stand (despite specs for both stands). But the flat base footprint is bigger, and it appears impossible/ impractical to try to flip the flat base upside down to get tripod base. And it's more expensive.I was looking for a lightweight stand, but I can't use the Yamaha Crosstown because there is no tension adjustment, and the Tama Classic wasn't available in time. Call it a cheap lesson.

Great features:(1) Real instructions. I have yet to see any instructions from any of the major drum and gear makers that come close - if they provide them at all - to the detailed ones that come with this stand. I posted photos to show just how detailed they are.(2) Adjustable sprint tension. Yes, many stands from other brands have this feature, but I have yet to find it on any of the flat and flush base stands that are back in vogue.(3) Swivel base, Not a feature that I would use, but it seems to be important to some drummers.(4) Absolutely stable. If you've played a DW Untralight or one of the boutique stands like a Sakae, then you will appreciate this feature. The not-so-great:(1) No memory lock for the upper tube assembly. I thought that it was omitted when the stand was packaged, but, no, it does not come with one.(2) Heavy. Yes, that sort of defeats the purpose of flat base stands.,(3) Takes up a lot of real estate. The legs are longer than DW or Tama flat base stands. Plus they do not raise enough to clear flat base snare or cymbal stands from Tama or DW.(4) Overall size. This stand will not breakdown into a small form factor that will fit into the smaller hardware bags on the market (Tama bags come to mind.)While the great features are, well, great, I plan to stick with my Tama "The Classic" hi-hat stand that breaks down compactly, is lightweight, and sufficiently functional for my needs. If you need some of the features and can live with the not-so-great issues then you will probably love this stand.:

Very smooth, lightweight and fast! As heavy duty as you need and still better than stuff from the 60's! Swivel Base is the DEAL MAKER! Would like to see a memory lock included.

Everything about is great, even if you aren't trying to work around a left double pedal.

It is so wobbly that it is unusable for professional uses. Beware!!!

It's very light weight and sturdy. A little bit expensive but it works great.
