Very easy to sharpen blade. Nicely made. Nice and smooth handle. I would've given it 5 starts because i didn't appreciate that it came packaged in plastic, it makes the product look like it was bought at a cabelas for $15; bit it's beautiful and of good quality so I'm not do king it for the packaging.

It is sharp. It is made in USA. I use it to cut lemons a few times and the acid left a patina on the blade.

Very well-designed update of the classic Sharpfinger, but the two I received (first one went back) both had defects on the bone scales. The one that went back had a large and obvious grinding divot on the right scale. The second one is acceptable, but barely, as it is missing one of the "saw cuts" in the bone handle. I'm taking it as "character," but honestly it looks like they employ very fast workers for QC, or the sight impaired!I still hand out 5 stars because the "generational" update feels great in the hand, and handles every bit as well as the original Sharpfinger. I was skeptical of the new hollow grind, and the narrower bone scales, but the 152OTG feels great in the hand and the blade is sweet -- it needed some stropping, but it takes a great edge and has held it well so far.Somebody complained about rust. High carbon steel rusts if not cared for, duh. Don't put it away wet and you're fine.Great knife that would be even better if this U.S. made version weren't 4 times as expensive as the Chinese one. OTOH, I am proud to pay American workers!!

I will preface by saying I love Old Timers. I own a good handful of them and they serve me extremely well. I consider myself loyal to the brand, even if this experience has been less than ideal. This knife is beautiful. I love the size, the shape, and the materials. I love that this has a bone handle and a carbon blade. This knife would be wonderful if whatever is going on with the manufacturer’s quality control were remedied. Here is my experience:I purchased the first knife to receive it with deep cracks and chips in the bone handle. I sent it back in exchange to get another one. This one had a beautiful, flawless bone handle. The blade, however, wobbled (audibly) when folded shut and sometimes, gravity would allow the blade to come out unintentionally. The problem didn’t stop here, though, as once I opened the knife one time, the locking mechanism got stuck somehow, refusing to lock the blade in place, remedying this knife unsafe for use. I sent it back as a return. My husband, knowing how much I had hoped to get a good quality version of this knife, ordered another for me. This one also came with damages to the bone handle, but I decided I would just get over those since it seemed to work well, otherwise. A half of a day’s light use later and the locking mechanism messed up just as the one before did, rendering it unsafe for use. This is a knife I truly wanted, but the quality control with this knife, in particular, is simply not up to par. Ideally, these kinks will be worked through and this knife will be what I had hoped it would be.

I was hesitant about this knife due to the hit or miss Amazon reviews. But once I opened it the fit and finish seems great! The polish on the blade is amazing; but due to it being 1095 I do expect it to gain a patina over time. The handle scales are a consistent rich reddish brown and feel very durable. These handles are thinner than the traditional handles but still offer viable grip. Came marginally sharp. What you would expect for a new knife but not up to my standards for sharp. Only complaint is I think the edge profile could be better. When putting my edge on it I noticed some areas of the blade took way longer to chase the new bevel to the edge. Overall for the price point I think it’s a quality knife. Especially when you find it at the mid $60ish on-sale price.

I didn't want to write this review, I bought this knife looking for a good game processing knife. Supporting American made products is always preferred as well, I would gladly pay another 10 to 20 dollars more for it. That being said there quality assurance/ control didn't catch a defect in my knife.Normally I don't make a big deal about something like this, however when I held it in my hand it did catch my finger. When I inspected it further the cracked handle scale went all the way through the first rivet. Last thing I need to have happen when my hands are covered in blood is for that piece to break off and my hand slip. I'm out west and where I generally hunt is a long drive to a hospital.I contacted the company about the issue, they sent an auto-generated email with a case number but it's been about 2 weeks and still no more information. I sent out a status request email 3 days ago and still no reply. I'm really starting to think thier warranty is just marketing bs.I mean I like the knife and it came pretty sharp, the profile of a sharp finger is perfect for processing small to large game out here. But basically seems like craftsmanship is hit and miss, I must have got a Friday afternoon made knife and QA just wanted to get off work and head home.Any way if they don't get back to me I'll just epoxy it in place and grind the handle down myself. Last time I'll buy an old timer, really was hoping for a good knife. My Dad and Grandfather both carried old timer and Shrade made stockman made knives when I was younger, just thought they'd be good again, not the Chinese stuff they've been known for since the 90's.Probably going to pick up a buck 113 or something made by Tops. Hope you have better luck than I have had with Old Timer.
