A True Beast of a Spear – Cold Steel Delivers Again!I recently purchased the Cold Steel Boar Spear, and I have to say, this is an absolute powerhouse of a weapon. From the moment you pick it up, you can feel the sheer quality and craftsmanship that Cold Steel is known for.Build Quality & DurabilityThis spear is built like a tank. The carbon steel spearhead is incredibly sharp right out of the box and has a nice, solid weight to it. The thick, stout shaft is crafted from premium American ash wood, making it both sturdy and surprisingly well-balanced. Whether you’re using this for hunting, self-defense, or just as an addition to your collection, you won’t be disappointed.Performance & HandlingThis isn’t just a display piece—it’s fully functional and lethal. The broad cutting edges make it highly effective for both thrusting and slashing. When tested against dense targets, it penetrated deeply with little effort, proving its effectiveness as a true boar-hunting spear. The length (over 82 inches assembled) gives you excellent reach, which is a huge plus for both safety and control when engaging larger game.Practicality & UsesHunting: Originally designed for boar hunting, this spear performs as intended. The wide blade ensures deep wounds, and the long shaft gives you leverage and control.Self-Defense: If you're looking for a home defense or survival weapon, this spear is a formidable deterrent. Its reach and cutting power make it a solid choice.Historical & Recreational Use: I personally purchased this as an addition to my Viking garb and historical survival kit for the age, and it fits perfectly into my setup. If you’re into historical reenactments, Viking/Norse themes, or medieval combat training, this is a perfect addition to your gear.Final VerdictIf you’re on the fence about buying the Cold Steel Boar Spear, just do it—you won’t regret it. The quality, durability, and functionality make it worth every penny. Whether for practical use, collection, or historical immersion, this is a formidable and impressive spear that Cold Steel has truly mastered.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 – Highly Recommend!

It is amazing. The blade is sharp and solid. The wooden handle/shaft is solid but a little heavy. The overall quality is very nice. The spear is taller than I expected. A screw driver is needed to attach the blade. Would buy if I had more hands lol.

This thing is amazing! Amazing...and dangerous without the sheath. DON'T lose the sheath. You could shave with this thing. Also, it's very sturdy and surprisingly light at the same time. If you are looking for a no-nonsense, rugged, and utilitarian spear that is ACTUALLY designed for functionality, here you go!

Now this may be a little off in left field for most of you but I bought this spear not only for the fun of throwing it at targets but for the security of my personal space I'm a disabled person always having to walk with something to help me with my balance so I thought the spear handle was perfect which it is it's nice and thick it's heavy so worst case scenario it will take a serious blow to anything including the side of somebody's head the spearhead itself is nicely made the blade will fit on the the shaft without the screws and after throwing it a few times I'm assuming that it will be stuck there so it don't come off unless you knock it off which I plan on doing the cool thing is is that if needed I can apply the point to the shaft and I have me a weapon to defend myself from critters and bad attitude people I am very pleased with the price the only thing I got to see is how easily I can throw it and hit my mark it's one of the strongest Spears that I've come across in a very long time and I'm hoping that I will have it for years to come now for those of you don't worry about your personal protection it's a great hunting tool a great entertainment tool but for me it's perfect because I don't have to carry my gun I don't have to look scary in public cuz I'm just walking around with my walking stick etc in

Bought these for my son in laws for Christmas. They arrived on time and were well protected in packaging. The boys are both hunters and although they’ve never used them to hunt, they play spearing games with thick styrofoam that becomes quite entertaining.Great gift for the hunter that has everything!

Sehr gute Lanze! Echte Kaufempfehlung!

I am a person who likes to improve what i get... this Spear comes with 2 holes for the screws ... so after sharpening the spear head some more (not that it isnt sharp to begin with :D ) i tryed to drill two more holes so it would been held by 4 screws in total... long story short SK5 Steel is way harder then my cheap HSS Drill bits so they are barely scratching the surface... guess i need some high quality drill bits to even be abel to drill through... :o cant understand why people say its bad quality steel ... i guess they didnt tryed to drill through it : D (the two holes probably would be enough but as i said i like to improve things i get) a clear buy recommendation from me.

Have seen several people using this for boar hunting and gotten kills. One kill myself so far. The quillons are WAAAAAY too short though and need to be modified or a bar wrapped around the handle underneath them to extend them by at least 6 inches on each side, or the boar may run up the shaft on you. Makes a good Assyrian sword if you happen to have it off the handle for some reason. Also the little tiny screw holding it on is garbage and not even worth trying to use... the handle pretty much just fits into it and if you jam it on there hard enough that handle will NEVER come out again. I would also recommend possibly wrapping the handle with some cordage of some kind to keep your hands from slipping when the shaft gets bloody. It basically came with a dark stained and shellacked Oak or Ash shovel handle for the handle shaft of this thing... which works ok... but a proper SPEAR Shaft is highly recommended. DEFINITELY recommend setting a 6-16 inch homemade or store bought set of Quillions at the back of the handle where the shaft goes in the handle to extend the ones that are on here.... so you don't get gored to death from the 900 pound boar running up the spear past the too short ones that are on this thing... think of quillions like the barb on a fishing hook... except they keep you from dying instead of hooking a fish.
