I bought one of these for my bedroom bathroom and another brand for the downstairs bathroom. The downstairs one wasn't nearly as secure. Subsequently I added raised platforms below the toilets to raise them to make it easier to rise. The other brand's legs wouldn't extend long enough like the Nova legs did so I bought another nova. I'm glad I did.

Set up worked really well on vacation when friends lent it to us. Bought the 3" riser&rails for home which did NOT work. We have a Kohler Santa Rosa toilet, i.e. one piece, with very small gap between "tank and seat" (not the distance between the holes, this is standard). So the riser and rails did NOT work for us at home. Make sure you know if you need standard or elongated as well, it matters!

My wife had difficulty getting up from the toilet. This solved the problem at a reasonable cost. Better than installing hand rails on the wall. Easy to install on the toilet. Been use for perhaps a year and no issues.

Pros: The delivery was very quick and easy to put togetherCons: Once assembled, the rails were very unstable and wobbly. Not safe for someone who needs stable support to sit down or get up from the toilet seat. Will be regrettably returning this product.

Not bad if all you need to do is raise and lower yourself. Not meant to grab on to. Very wobbly if not using both hand rails evenly. If used correctly I imagine it works well, but my m-i-l wanted something she could haul herself out of a wheel chair with like a grab bar. Deffinately not for that. I gave it 2 stars not because it is not a good product, but because it is a wobbly if not used just right.

My wife had a tib-fib break with a rod and screws put in. We needed to make the bathroom toilet accessible. I purchased these rails and installed them with a Carex toilet seat They work perfectly together. Easy install, and safe toilet area. Some reviewers say the rails are wobbly. They are a little, but it's to be expected. They're designed to accept downward force from a person pushing down to either lower themselves to, or push up from, a toilet. Again, for us this is a temporary situation. If you're permanently disabled or weigh over 300lbs, you may consider a more professionally installed solution for making a true, to-code, handicap accessible bathroom.

We had a household member that had mobility issues for a couple of months, needed these to assist with getting on and off the toilet. Fairly easy to install and were adequate for what we needed, but they felt more than a little "wobbly" and I'm not sure that I would have trusted them if, for example, you needed to grab one for support as you were falling to one side or the other. If I ever needed a product like this again for long-term use I'd probably look for something a bit sturdier.
