My family cooks a lot of pizzas. We even have a pizza oven that lives in our RV. I have cooked pizzas in wood fired, propane fired, and grill fired ovens, as well as in my kitchen oven. But this electric outdoor pizza oven has quickly become my favorite!First off, the heat source is below the pizza stone, and is tightly controllable with a thermostat. With the fired ovens, you’re constantly battling overall oven temperature, uneven temperatures, and open flame above your pie. This means that you need to be constantly turning your pizzas, but opening the door means you’re losing heat. But if you have the fire too high, the top of your pizza is going to burn. But with this electric oven, it is temperature controlled and even, so you’re not opening the door to turn the pizza, and everything cooks perfectly evenly! As Ninja likes to do, they really simplify the process for you. You simply select the pizza style, which determines the default temperature and cook time. Put the pizza in the oven, and a couple minutes later, it chimes at you to let you know that it is done. Every single pizza I have made in this oven has come out perfectly! And if you’re cooking more than one pie, it lets you know when the oven is ready for the next one, which is usually right away.I like that the unit is pretty portable, and low profile, since it doesn’t require a chimney. The only downside really is having to have a plug nearby or run a cord. But I like this oven so much, I am going to install an outlet on my deck right by the pizza oven cart!

I have wanted a pizza oven for some time, so I was happy to find this Ninja Artisan outdoor pizza oven. Although I make homemade pizzas at home in my oven on a pizza stone, they are never as good as the ones I can get at a local Italian restaurant. The crust just doesn’t come out as crispy because of the limited temperature range of my home oven, whether I use from scratch dough or the dough I buy from my local grocery store. This pizza oven solves that problem very well. It heats all the way up to 700°, and has a preset function for 5 different styles of pizza. Each pizza type (Neapolitan, Thin Crust, New York, Chicago/Pan, Custom) requires different cooking temps & times. The custom setting allows you to set your own. Once I get the oven preheated, I like to cook several pizzas in a row. A thin crust one only takes about 3 or 4 minutes and you can cook them back to back because it holds its heat so well. You aren’t just limited to pizzas either. to the 2 heating elements, one at the top and one at the bottom, you can bake casseroles, brownies, etc., or even broil a nice steak if you want. This oven will even proof your pizza dough or bread, as well as dehydrate foods for later use. There is a digital display that shows temp & timer, as well as mode. All the controls are right up front and easy to see. The display even tells you when to add food or remove it. It comes with a pizza stone and a heavy duty baking tray. You use the stone for pizzas or even sourdough bread, and can use the baking tray either alone or on top of the stone. The preheated pizza stone is what gives my pizza that crispy authentic italian crust. It is a shame that they didn’t include a pizza peel, since that is one of the main tools in pizza baking. The oven has a glass window in the door so you can peek in and see your pizza without having to open the door and lose heat during cooking. The oven has a very cool modern design, and actually looks a bit Mid Century Modern to me. The outside of mine has a matte dark gray finish except for the black legs and metal drop down door. The door handle acts as a support for the door when opened–very nice touch. You can get a neat stand for the oven for around $100, but I just put mine on a folding table. It must be well insulated, because it didn’t melt or damage the table. Other accessories are available for various prices, including the pizza peel that is around $30 - $40. I really like this oven, even though I have to use it outside.

I ate my first slice of pizza sixty-five years ago and was hooked. I have eaten way too many more than I should have during the years since. I have definite tastes as to what makes a good pizza. I ordered this pizza oven with thoughts of making my own pizzas because it is so hard to get even the good pizzas cooked right most of the time. I took this one out of the box and set it up. I had a cheap frozen pizza for the first trial. It felt like it took forever to warm up. As I loaded the pizza into the oven, it did not want to go in as far as it should. I closed the door, selected Neapolitan, and hit start. The three minute timer started. Three minutes later, I opened the door to a bit of a mess, but the pizza looked to be cooked perfectly otherwise. As I pushed my peel under it, it easily moved back in the oven to where it should have been when I started cooking. I don't know what the problem was, but it was not the oven's fault I didn't load it right. After sprinkling it with red pepper flakes, and shredded romano and parmesan cheese, I sliced it into six pieces. The crust looked amazing. Everything looked cooked to perfection. I bit in and WOW!!! If someone had handed this to me and asked me to guess where it had come from, there is no way that I would have guessed from a freezer at the grocery store. It was absolutely wonderful! I would never have thought that the oven could make such a difference in how a pizza comes out. I love it.
