Deepness of the throat is good.Rounded clamping plate makes for an uneven distribution but doesn't interfere with its function. Hard to find a less expensive one that we orks this well.

The folding arm desk lamps I have been using for decades come with a very inadequate clamp. I adjust my lamps daily and with the original clamp, periodically they fall off the table they are fastened to. This clamp solves that issue. It makes moving the lamp (as it is designed to do) a very stable and reliable operation--no more collapsing lamps or fiddling to readjust the clamp.

I loved how sleek the design is since it was going to be visible all the time. The best part is that it is very sturdy at holding my table lamp.

I love this clamp. No more worries about plastic failing- this is metal! It fit onto my 2+inch thick shelf and hasn't budged. The lamp slid right into the hole and I was done. I suspect the lamp will die before the clamp does.
