Product Description

Murray offers a wide array of thermal-magnetic circuit breakers that are the key element for overload and short-circuit protection of your home’s electrical system. To provide additional protection Murray offers circuit breakers to protect against severe electrical shock or electrocution, mitigate the risk of electrical fires and protect against damaging surges and voltage spikes. Circuit breakers are intended for switching and protection of your home's wiring from high temperatures caused by excess current higher than the rating of the wire. While thermal-magnetic circuit breakers are the key element for overload and short-circuit protection of your electrical system, there are potentially dangerous conditions that do not involve over current. Murray strongly recommends against the use of "used" breakers. The installation of used breakers in a Murray panel will void the warranty on the panel. Murray does not sell used breakers and has not approved any 3rd party sellers to do so.

From the Manufacturer

Murray plug in circuit breakers are intended for use in Murray load centers or meter combinations. The double pole Murray breakers may be used in 1 or 3-phase load centers and are 240V rated. To ensure the warranty on a Murray panel is not voided, the use of Murray breakers is required.

We purchased this to install an Incinolet toilet in remote WV. Everything was installed and we had no lights on the unit. Broke the toilet down assuming it was the toilet circuits. Tested the thermostat, the fan, the timer, etc. All had power but the unit would not work. Checked wire, energized. Shecked the outlet...only one terminal had power. Went to the breaker and one pole would not work. Reversed the wires and same problem occurred. Hooked up 2-20A singles and tied them together, toilet worked! I am sure it is rare, actually this is the first breaker I have EVER had that was bad out of the box. Maybe it was a return from a less honest customer that was shipped out. Cannot beat the price. I will still buy it again, but test it before driving 7 hours to install.

I do a lot of electrical work, but had never used Murray products before. I needed a subpanel and came across at a great price and decided to give Murray product a try.I added this to the subpanel to run a . This breaker, as well as the other Murray products I purchased, is well made, feels solid and works great. I recommend it.9/05/2013: I ordered two more of these breakers. One to run a water pump that supplies house water from a well and the other one as a spare. I purchased a spare water pump and wanted to connect it side to side along with current pump just in case of malfunction. If the current pump fails I can immediately turn on the new pump and continue to have water in the house.I went to a home improvement store to purchase necessary material to install the new pump, but they didn't carry Murray breakers. The salesman told me that Siemens' breakers are compatible with Murray's panels (and perhaps they are the same breakers with different tags, since Siemens own Murray), but I read where some inspectors don't allow different brand breakers install on a panel. Anyway, I decided to stick around with Murray's breakers and ordered two of them here at Amazon. I'll be installing the pump this Saturday, so with two day free shipping they'll be here on Friday. I like the quality of these breakers and having one as spare ensures I don't have to go around looking for one if needed.
