About this item

  • 【Specification】Polos: 2P, Voltage: DC 500V, Current: 100A, Breaking Capacity up to 6KA, Breaking Time ≤ 0.03 S
  • 【Strong Protection Features】The circuit breaker effectively protects 500V DC circuits from overload and short circuit damage. When the current exceeds 5 times the rated value, the circuit breaker will trip after 8 seconds; when the current exceeds 10 times the rated value, the circuit breaker will trip immediately, preventing damage to electrical appliances. The trip time is only 0.03 seconds, ensuring circuit safety and reliability
  • 【High-Quality Materials】 Made with high-precision molds, high closure accuracy; full copper contact pieces with conductivity 10 times higher than pure brass. The switch can handle up to 6000 on-off cycles, which is twice that of older models
  • 【Detail Improvements:】Larger screw heads for easier and safer wire connections; 12 built-in arc extinguishing plates, 3 more than older models, effectively preventing flashover and arc; stronger outer shell, ensuring stability and preventing disassembly during tripping
  • 【Key Selling Points:】Supports screw or terminal block connection; with a high breaking capacity of 6KA; unique heat dissipation system for stable operation over long periods; new latch design for easier operation. The scene display design allows for easy identification
  • 【Unique Display Column Design】An additional display area allows you to attach scene stickers for easy identification of the room or area controlled by each circuit breaker, avoiding problems caused by incorrect switching
  • 【Applications】Undergone three safety tests and certified to meet all safety standards, we always prioritize customer safety. Wildly used in solar, RVs, home circuits and other 50/60Hz AC systems

I use this in my solar generator setup, and it’s working perfectly. You should always have breaker switches in-line with your solar or battery circuit — not only to handle shorts but also for the convenience of quickly disconnecting and reconnecting power. Works great!

I use this on the solar charge controller side of my PV system. It provides good protection as well and a handy disconnect when servicing the circuit. The MCB mounts and unmounts easily from the DIN panel. This is particularly handy me since I have the majority of my circuitry mounted where servicing requires a bit of contortion. Everything on these feels quality without feeling clunky.

Without ripping it apart there is only so much I can say about this breaker isn't there? Housing feels solid, switch has a good feel to it when thrown. Lugs look okay. Using it for a solar disconnect. Time will tell if it holds up!

I got this for one of my husband's solar projects he's working on. He says it works fine so far, simple installation & no problems. What remains to be seen is its longevity and resistance to extreme heat and cold as it goes through the seasons. The box it's in is relatively sheltered north-facing, like our public utility box that has lasted at least a decade, so it'll be a pretty even comparison when the time comes. If anything goes wonky with it in a shorter period of time, I'll come back here to report & update my review. For now, so far so good, 4 stars from me!

This breaker is a DC rated Thermal Magnetic Breaker, meaning that it has excellent protection against huge current surges (magnetic = instant protection) while also protecting against slowly rising heat (thermal = slower protection). Ultimately its the best of both worlds potentially. It also notes that there is internal arc extinguishing protection - also important for high volts/amp situations. The DC rating is important - they are not hte same as a regular AC breaker and are necessary if working with DC circuits. Simliarly, the double pole is important with DC; to interrupt both the + and - wires. In this case, the 500V, 40A rating makes it useful as a disconnect for large solar array - that rating is up to 20KW.I tested the breaker with the continuity tester of my multi-meter and confirmed that in the off position, there is no leakage at all. Obviously that is critical. Also, looking at the terminals it is clear it can handle large wires - I didn't specifically test with different wires but can see it will easily handle 6 AWG and most likely 4 AWG. More than sufficient for most situations I can envision. The DIN connection makes it convenient to pair with a small project case with DIN rail that is readily availble for a nice, clean look that protects it too. I will be using this on the inverter side of our solar input for convenience - to avoid the need to walk out to the array (100' away) to throw the disconnect. As to negatives that I saw, one is that there is no UL listing/certification. This limits usefulness in permitted situations. The other is the markings of + and - on the poles. The top left (1) is marked as + while the bottom left (3) is marked as -. However they are the same side of the circuit as the break passes throgh from 1 to 3 and from 2 to 4. So it seems to me that both left terminals should be + and both right ones should be -. Another reason to verify with a multi-meter before using. All in all, for the cost it seems to be a heck of a value given the features included. If it had UL listing it would be near perfect from a specs standpoint, but probably also 5-10x the price.

I have a solar array I will be building in the spring. I wanted this to put out at the ground mount to protect the wires. As well as giving a way to shut off the power.

Nice breaker for PV disconnect, just make sure you aren't exceeding voltage or amps. The 500V rating should be fine for most string installs since inverters are topping out around there anyway, but others I see are around 1000V rated. The action on the breaker is very good (snappy), and the red/green indicators for live and safe are excellent. Overall no issues, looks right at home on a DIN rail build.

The Mollom miniature circuit breaker comes in various amperages, I got the 40 A. They are double pole, which is perfect for breaking both the positive and negative connections simultaneously. The outside is a standard mini circuit breaker style and size that easily "snap" onto a dim rail. The terminal connection are well designed and made to screw down tight. It uses the standard colorized indicators to reflect whether the circuit is live (red) or safe (green). It is rated for 500V DC.I like that it is a perfect replacement for my solar panel array disconnect, was simple to install and works as advertised.
