Motorola is an iconic radio name. however this unit is too high line i think. Not compatible with my multi room situation. Get Panasonic or more practical product, that are much cheaper.

UPDATE 6/23/2023, after a month of very frustrating use, I've reduced our two-star rating to one-star. We should have returned the phones to Amazon after the first week, but installing and programming the system was so time consuming that I tried to make it work. Now we've missed the Amazon return deadline. The models are ML 1000 (base unit), ML 1100 (two desk units) and ML 1200 (three battery handsets).(1) These phones have NEVER worked properly regardless of our efforts to program and use them. I tried for days to get the digital receptionist feature to work, following the instructions scrupulously and testing it. A couple of weeks after I THOUGHT it was working, I tested the two most active lines (one of which is often used for business) and was aghast to find that both our professional clients and our friends were being sent to a voicemail-loop "hell." The lines weren't ringing through when the callers pressed the correct code number, even though the caller heard a ringing trill. What's more, callers had to go through the "Press 1 for the Office or 4 for the Home Line," messages two or three times before being allowed to leave a message. (They would have hung up in frustration before that.) Further, the digital receptionist message, which I had scrupulously recorded and tested, was now truncated and callers didn't even get to my important last sentence: "If you wish. call our cell numbers directly at 512-xxx-xxxx . . . ."(2) Two of the three desk handsets failed within the first hour of use because the socket on the handset created a loose connection. That is, the handsets are dead unless you manually press the plug deeper into the handset than the "click" and hold it there. It's not a cord problem, but a flaw in the sockets. I fixed it with a drop of super glue.(3) The sound quality on both desk sets is poor. I hear a muffled voice at maximum volume, and people on the other end say my own voice is also somewhat muffled. (It's better for them on speaker, but not for me.)(4) A call to customer/tech service was extremely frustrating. A polite customer service person answered, but he knew NOTHING about programming or troubleshooting this very common phone. He put me on hold two or three times while he consulted a supervisor for instructions, but both ultimately said they didn't know how to help.We trusted Motorola--thinking of their "six sigma" quality assurance program from decades ago--but they failed us. I'll probably never buy their products again.

Don't bother. You can't use the cordless handsets - they are terrible. You can't call out. The screen is tiny. There is no logical way to pick up a line that someone else has put on hold - you have to literally click the green button, then click "line," then hit 1 or 2 - which means you are guessing which line it is unless the person who originally answered lets you know. Given that it is only a two-line phone, you should be able to just pick up the line, not go through three steps to get the call. It's insane. Very Very expensive piece of junk.

I write this review in light of buying many other models over the years and will say this is a great device! Very clear with very good range. I worked in telecommunications, IT, tech support, working specifically digital wired and wireless business phones. With in mind, I stand by this brand! Today, portable phones are so ubiquitous that wired desk phones are almost a cheap commodity. if you find a used one on here, buy it right away!

Lo devolvi, no dudo sea un excelente equipo, pero para uso en mi hogar no fue lo que esperaba, el aparato fijo es muy grande y no encontré instrucciones de como configurarlo para dos lineas, estéticamente no me pareció agradable.

I use this product in my home. This phone has great features foe instance it has 4 lines, I use two lines for my Ooma, one line for my Telus landline and one line for my Telus cell phone connect by a X-link box. Next the speakerphone is clear, even talking 12 feet from the phone. This phone also has music on hold so I can put my callers on hold with music, so they don't think they are cut off. This phone provided me with a short cable with 1/8 inch jacks at both ends to plug in to music on hold unit. Also the wireless ml1200 phones works great with this unit because it has a maximum range of 1000 feet, this is great because I could be at my neighbors house and still take or answer calls. Would recommend.

I work for a company that does not favor telephony solutions with "computer audio." For a variety or reasons they are not using Zoom, Skype for Business, Teams or IP softphones. Instead, they forward their VoIP calls to their personal phones and use the "call me" feature on web meetings. I hope this changes, but for now it is what it is.Anyway, I found using my cell to be incredibly unreliable. Half the forwarded calls would go straight to voicemail, super frustrating. I decided to use a landline - but I had no free jack in my office and no phone to use. I am a heavy speakerphone user, I hate headsets. At my last company I used a Jabra 410 USB speakerphone and loved it. I wanted an equivalent for my new office phone.First I looked at the Ooma Telo + DP1 Home Office Phone Bundle because the DP1 was a "wireless wired" business phone. But the idea of paying for a service I already had through my CableCo tripple-play, even though Ooma's only like $5/mo, bothered me no end. So I sucked it up, broke out the drill and fish tape and ran an RJ-11 to my office like it's 1992 all over again. Then I did a lot of research and found for analog phones, you have very few choices. There were a ton of AT&T models that, frankly, looked cheap and had middling reviews. There were a lot of VTech phones, I have a cordless set now, but no great business focused corded ones outside the larger sets.Then I found this Motorola. It's PERFECT! It's a bit on the big side and I really didn't need the DECT functionality, but it's a nice to have. The answering machine is useless, pretty much every landline service (now all VoIP through your cableco / FIOS) has voicemail. But the speakerphone is AWESOME. Very loud and the quality is awesome - I tested with my wife and she could not tell I had her on speaker.My one small complaint is the random blinking lights - on the base station it's no big deal, but on the handset the LED is like disco bright and I cannot figure out why it randomly blinks or how to stop it! I originally had the cordless bedside, I moved it out of the bedroom - it was that bright. I've tried everything to make it stop too, clearing out all the voicemail, deleting the missed call history, etc. Still, it blinks - mocking me.Other than the blinkenlights though, this is a great phone. It is the closest you'll get to an enterprise quality VoIP phone from someone like Polycom or Cisco for an analog system. I also expect this may be one of the last as the POTS system continues to die off.

We have had a att system for many years and it recently died...I wanted something that didn't cost an arm and two legs, so after some looking I found this motorola system...it was so easy to set up, the sound quality is awsome..I wish for one of our extenctuins I had a wall mount available but for the price I will live with it...not noted in the listing you do have to plug each phone into 120 volts and it has battery backup in case of power failure.....will be adding to the system .....so worth the money

I write this review in light of 11 years I worked in telecommunications, specifically digital wired and wireless business phones. The company where I worked (Nortel) took pride in the reliability and quality of it's phones. Today, portable phones are so ubiquitous that wired desk phones are almost a cheap commodity.I specifically bought this phone because of the Motorola reputation for "drive a nail with it" toughness of it's mobile radios, pagers and flip phones. While we haven't abused this phone, the construction does feel solid and robust. Setup was anticlimactically straightforward, although I only configured the answering machine and speed dials. Voice quality on the handset is very good, but the speakerphone is superb, very much being full-duplex, with an excellent sounding speaker. I like that I can configure so many speed dial keys as soft-keys, so you don't have to fuss with small paper tabs to put under key caps, the keys are labeled, and you don't have to scroll or search through a contact directory. Storage capacity is a surprisingly large 200 minutes. I was also surprised that this phone allows immediate recording of a call with the single push of a dedicated button. You would have thought that would be mentioned more prominently in the description. We use this phone as our main kitchen phone and answering machine, but we may tap its wireless capability to set up a wall phone in the basement where there aren't any convenient wall jacks. Yes, you can totally get a $30-$40 cheap chinese no-name set. Yes, this is among the most expensive sets on Amazon. I'm still very satisfied with it.
