Let me start by saying that, as I’m writing this review, 31 people have given this phone system five stars — and I believe them. This AT&T 5-Handset DECT 6.0 Cordless Home and Business Phone is clearly an excellent product, packed with smart features like — call blocking, Bluetooth sync, intercom, a color display that’s bigger than my kitchen TV — and it probably does everything short of baking a poundcake. But here’s the thing: you have to actually need it.I bought this set as a just-in-case replacement for our very old but fully functional Nextcom phone system. And after opening the box and flipping through the war-and-peace-length instructions, I realized I didn’t have the heart (or the cognitive bandwidth) to set up a whole new phone infrastructure while the old one still works flawlessly.Make no mistake — this is a real upgrade. It connects to your cell phone via Bluetooth, so you can take mobile calls on any handset; has a robust call-blocking system that would make a telemarketer weep, and even allows internal communication across handsets like walkie-talkies for grownups (basically an intercom). But the system is not plug-and-play. It’s plug… program… connect… sync… consider taking a nap… and then play. If you’re not tech-comfortable — or if you’re buying this for someone who finds modern microwaves confusing (aren’t they?), be prepared to roll up your sleeves (or at least offer to help them set it up). That said, if and when my Nextcom system finally gasps its last beep, I’ll be glad I have this in reserve. Especially with all the whispers that AT&T is phasing out traditional landlines. This model’s “Connect to Cell” feature gives it some future-proofing: if you lose your landline, you can still use it through your mobile connection — though I’d double-check which features stay fully functional. So yes, it’s smart. It’s powerful. It’s the phone system equivalent of a Volvo: safe, solid, feature-rich… and not for people who only drive to the grocery store. I’m glad I bought it. I just hope I don’t need it for a while.

When I set out to replace my outdated home phone system, I wasn’t expecting to find something that felt like a mini office at home. But after setting up this AT&T DLP73490 4-Handset DECT 6.0 Cordless Phone, I was genuinely surprised by how much technology has improved even in landline phones. As soon as I polled the new phone from the box, the system felt premium. The 5-inch color display on the base station immediately stood out - crisp, vibrant, and easy to navigate. I loved how soft keys on the side made it feel like I was using a smartphone rather than a landline. Setting up was fairly straightforward. The four handsets only needed to be plugged into power, no complex wiring required. What truly impressed me was the Bluetooth Connect to Cell feature. Pairing my mobile was seamless, and I was able to make and receive calls from my cell directly through the handset. This meant my cell could stay on its charger while I used a cordless phone from anywhere in the house - super convenient! And if you're like me tired of robocalls, this system is for you. The Smart Call Blocker automatically filters out spam, and I can manually block numbers with one touch. Within a week, my home was blissfully quiet from telemarketers. Also, AT&T’s DECT 6.0 technology ensures long-range coverage and excellent sound quality. I tested calls in different rooms and even outside on the porch - no drops, no static, just clear, natural-sounding conversations. The simulated full-duplex speakerphone meant I could talk hands-free while cooking, and my voice still came through perfectly. For those running a home office or small business, this phone has you covered. The conference calling feature lets you connect an outside line with multiple handsets, and the intercom function made communication around the house effortless. The answering system stores up to 40 minutes of messages, which is plenty. If I had to nitpick, I’d say the speaker on the base station could be louder, especially for hands-free conversations in a noisy environment. Also, while the setup was easy, configuring some advanced features (like Bluetooth settings) took a bit of trial and error. Overall, the AT&T DLP73490 4-Handset Cordless Phone is more than just a phone - it’s a versatile communication hub for both home and business use. Whether you need robust call-blocking, Bluetooth integration, or an easy-to-use intercom, this system delivers. If you still use a home phone or need one for work, this is one of the best options out there.Bottom line:The AT&T DLP73490 4-Handset Cordless Phone is a surprisingly advanced home phone system with a crisp 5-inch display, Bluetooth connectivity for making calls through your cell, and a powerful Smart Call Blocker to eliminate spam. DECT 6.0 ensures excellent range and call clarity, while the intercom and conference calling features make it great for home offices. The speaker could be louder, and some advanced settings take tweaking, but overall, it’s a feature-packed, reliable choice for home or business use. Solid 5-star product, highly recommended!Pros:1. Crisp 5-inch color display for easy navigation.2. Bluetooth Connect to Cell allows mobile calls on handsets.3. Smart Call Blocker effectively reduces spam calls.4. DECT 6.0 provides excellent range and clear sound.5. Multiple handsets and intercom for home or office use.6. Full-duplex speakerphone for hands-free calls.7. Easy setup with simple plug-and-play installation.Cons:1. Base station speaker volume is low for noisy environments.2. Advanced features like Bluetooth settings require tweaking.
