I really wanted the sump pump monitor to work. I have had positive experiences with the Moen Flo whole home shut-off and needed something to monitor the sump pump. I have had a few issues with it - it doesn't detect when my 1/2 HP sump goes off - so I can't get an understanding on how often the sump is working, and secondarily the water sensor (ultrasonic I think) keeps setting off false alarms that the pump has failed and there is a danger of imminent overflow - which results in texts and calls (this is good if it was reliable). I have contacted support twice and received a new unit so it's not a hardware issue (unless it's with the revision of hdw in the supply chain) and I have even thought it's something to do with my pump do tried it at my parents to test - within a few hours I had 3 false alarms with the siren going off at 3am - I went downstairs and the levels and pump where all normal. I hope they solve the issues - it wasn't a wifi issue I have an AP 8 feet away locked to the Moen MAC and can tell SNR is great. I hope they get this resolved - in the meantime I'm looking at other options like PumpSpy. For the record the support was great - I think the issue is with the hardware or maybe software and I just can't trust the device.

I really wanted to like this product, I had a sump pump failure and resulting flood and this seemed like the perfect preventive measure. The data gets collected in the cloud and in the app (no PC web browser access), and they often have sync issues where the app does not show the activity for long periods of time. It loses WiFi connectivity often, which requires quirky reconnect procedure to fix. I called support, they sent me a new unit thinking there was something wrong with it. That one had the same issues. It is unreliable, but it is a device you need to rely on. The final straw was 4am alert of pump failure and impending flood, I raced to the basement to check and everything was fine. I waited for the pump to run a cycle which it did normally, the Moen monitor just wasn't behaving. When it works, it is a good solution, but unfortunately it doesn't work very long. Any interruption in WiFi means you need to re-setup the unit from scratch, including removing the battery, scanning the QR code, entering your birthday, typing in your WiFi password, waiting, waiting and more waiting to connect, and about half the time it doesn't setup correctly. You may have to do this 2-3 times each time it loses the connection. There's an ethernet port but the Moen documentation says you can't use it for network (future expansion or never finished the product?).This is a critical product meant to provide alerts for an urgent situation, and given the flaky connectivity issues I can't trust it. I'll be throwing it away and replacing it with something reliable, which is a shame because if they would just spend some effort on the app it could be a good product.

The Good:Attractive well-finished unit, super easy to install and a wonderful app that performed well.The Bad:Unreliable connectivity and the abundance of false positives make me question this product's market readiness. Getting "critical alarms" 3x a day (after several adjustments of sensor) quickly reduced my perception of the product being able to manage what it was designed/advertised to do effortlessly.Result:Returned unit to Amazon after losing confidence in basic, yet critical functionality.

I like Moen, I'm a builder and I always push Moen products. This is a cheaply made, smell it out of the box $1.25 worth of plastic and copper waste of money. Great it will provide historical data on usage, app is decent for setup, but it actually doesn't work. Returning ASAP.

I've had the device for a month or so... it decided to disconnect from the moen cloud (it's still connected to my network and all my other devices are connected and operating correctly) and it appears there's no way to reconnect it without resetting it completely. "Troubleshooting" doesn't even have coverage of this situation (just assumes it's not connected to my network... but it is). Support options are "call during business hours", and... that's it. The phone app can't connect to it except through the Moen site... so it's running but basically dead.Update - it appears the only way to recover when it loses connectivity is to delete the device and re-add it, then it starts working again but it's now disconnected from it's backend twice in less than a month of ownership and the recovery process is time consuming. In addition, while the monitor is disconnected from the service, the component component of the device spams me with false alarm messages telling me my basement is flooding... and I don't appear to be able to disable those messages from the mobile app (I shut them off but it keeps sending them anyway). I think the cloud app component of the device is in need of significant improvement before it will be ready to actually deliver on the promise of providing capable sump pump monitoring.I've been using home automation equipment for years and this device is already the least reliable of all those devices.
