  • 3-Step Leak Test: Fill the Mini Bucket with pool water to match the pool’s current level, place it on the first swim step, and compare levels after 24–48 hours. Uneven drop means a leak—equal drop means normal evaporation.
  • Weighted Base for Stability – Designed to stay put on your pool step without tipping or floating away, even with pool activity.
  • Accurate, No-Mess Results – Ditch the old bucket and tape method. This cleaner, modern tool gives you a clear visual read without the hassle.
  • Reusable & Built to Last – Made from durable, transparent plastic so you can easily monitor water levels year after year.

Mini Bucket Test Pool Leak Detector is the easiest way to check for swimming pool leaks, and it's reusable! You do not need to turn off your pool pump to get an accurate test. Just turn off your Auto-Fill system, if installed, for this test. Remember: Auto-Fill Systems hide pool leaks. Three Easy Steps: Step 1: Turn off your pool's water features and auto-fill system (if installed). Step 2: Place the Mini Bucket Test on the first swim step of your pool and fill it up so the water level on the inside of the tester matches the water level of the pool. Step 3: Come back in a day or two and check it out.

Very easy to use! It made it obvious that we had a leak and had it fixed! I see us definitely using this little device for many years 🥰

The leak detector did not give the same result as a traditional bucket test. I noted there was visible evaporative condensation present on the inside walls of the test tube over time, which may have resulted in the water level being higher then the outside (pool level). This would indicate that the pool may have a leak. Conversely, the bucket test showed that there was no leak. The inside inner diameter of the tube is significantly less when compared to a bucket. This may result in a discrepancy of the true evaporation rate.

I’ve done a bucket test before. This was 10 times easier! I can test my pool every summer now. Wish I found this a long time ago!
