I have vintage 1950's sillcocks on my house. The handles are all bunged up and it's difficult to find a replacement. The old handles are cheap zinc anyway. I soldered this in but there is also an option for pipe threads. The new handle is a joy to use after the old ones. I would have preferred to just replace the sillcock itself but there was not enough clearance to take the old one off and solder a new one one. I guess I could have cut the pipe, pulled it out, soldered a new one on and then rejoined the pipe but my time is running short and I have better things to do.

We use this to replace a broken faucet that froze in the winter time. It does not leak. It's the perfect size. Very easy to install. Appears to be good quality and it is durable. So far as performed very well.

I've been in this house over thirty years now. The original frost free faucet was installed with a screw on anti-siphon device (immediately removed and discarded) as well as a shutoff valve with a bleed nipple so you could drain it in the winter. That faucet wore out and I couldn't find parts for it so I replaced it with a similar one from my local big box outfit. What I didn't realize until after I'd installed it was that it had an internal anti-siphon device that wouldn't let you drain the line anymore. Basically, when you turned it off, it drained the 8" frost free section and that was it. Anyway, I meant to take it apart and remove that feature, but I never did. To add insult to injury, I got sick that winter and never got around to removing the hose from that faucet, I did however turn off the water. Yup, it froze and split.I bought this fixture specifically because it doesn't have the built in anti-siphon feature. I really prefer having to disconnect the hose and being able to drain the whole line. The fixture itself is as described, and seems to be very well made. The neck of it (where the hose attaches) seems to be a little less then full flow diameter, but if it's restricting flow, you couldn't tell it by me. I'm fully expecting it to last long after I sell this place and move to a retirement home somewhere. In the mean time, if I have to replace the one out front, I'll be buying another one of these.

Installed this to replace an old frost free that was installed incorrectly, which didn't allow the water to drain out(angled up). It froze and cracked the tube. This unit replaced it, is of better quality/material and was installed with a slight downward angle allowing it to drain completely when turned off.

Replaced a 30-year-old hose bibb that had corroded to pieces. This one is made much better. It's also a bit different; rather than a couple of full turns to open, this opens in about a half a turn. And the old one occasionally started buzzing as the flow through it rattled the valve inside, but this one has been nothing but silent. I really like it, might have to buy a couple more to replace my other aging hose bibbs.

It only takes a part turn to open all the way which I like, but the threaded part for the hose seems to be flawed and won’t seal, has a really small base that goes against the house. The price was good though and I like the way it opens the rest isn’t very good...

Works perfect so far. It is currently going through its first winter at my house. I previously had 2 normal spouts burst do to ice(my own fault I forgot to drain hose and shut off water in basement leading to faucet before first freeze) this works perfect I don't have to shut off my connection in my basement during winter now and have water access even during winter without a bunch of hassle now. TIP if you install your self then make sure it is tilted slightly down to the outside so when the water is shut off it can drain all the water and not sit in the pipe and freeze and crack inside the basement..

The faucet serves me well where I am using it. I use it to water flowers around my deck and also to wash my car. If you need a greater flow of water I would suggest going to the 3/4 inch hydrant which I have at the front of my house. It will fill a pail a lot quicker. I agree with other reviews that the plate the screws go through could have been a little wider. I also had to use washers to get the screws to hold onto plate. Over all I have been pleased with the faucet.
