I ordered this to use when pulling my trailer with my camper hitch. It sticks out about a foot or more than a regular hitch. My cord on my trailer was too short to reach the plug on my truck. With this extension that is no longer an issue. It’s very heavy construction and seems like it would last very long. I can also check the lights on my trailer without having to completely hook up, Just plug it in. I highly recommend this product and wish I had purchased one a long time ago.

Arrived quickly. Looks to be well made and it conveys all the power and signals. 'nuff said. I bought it, so that we can connect the Tow Vehicle to the trailer to charge the battery, as needed, when solar isn't enough. It will be an asset among our camping gear.

I used this on my RV as the existing wiring was to short and constantly pulled out of the socket! This extension made things work excellently! No more coming apart!

My Toyota 4runner has the stock trailer plug far off to the side hitch location. This was an easy fix to the problem.

I rewired my truck's trailer wiring because it was undersized and also getting old and corroded. I ran the various wiring inputs on my truck to a waterproof junction box on the underside of my truck at the rear and connected the seven wires to a terminal block in the box. I was looking to buy a trailer socket with a pigtail to run from the junction box to the rear bumper, but could not find one, so I bought this product and cut off the plug end and made my own pigtail. I wired it into the junction box, matching the colors from the truck's wiring to that of the pigtail and I mounted the plug under the rear bumper. Things didn't work out quite right at first and the lights were not doing what I expected them to do.I removed the cover and inspected the wiring to the extension receptacle. I noticed that four of the colored wires did not go where I had expected them to go. At that point, I realized that my truck's wiring used "7-way Traditional" colored wires while this extender uses "7-way RV Standard". The location of the various functions is the same in both (e.g. center is reverse lights in both), but they use different colored wires. For example, Traditional uses purple for reverse lights, while RV Standard uses yellow colored wires. So I rewired the receptacle and everything worked. If you're using this as originally intended, as an extension, it will work fine whether your vehicle and trailer are wired for Traditional or RV Standard. But since I cut off the plug and routed the individual wires to a terminal block, the color difference caused me to initially make incorrect connections, which I later rectified. The extension is well made using good quality wire with a flexible sheath. It's totally solid. The plug and receptacle are really nice too.
