This looks beautiful and I love it. Great quality. The only reason I did not give it Five stars was the right equipment was not in the package. There was no instructions, not enough screws (they show in the video 5 but had 3). It was supposed to have a clef board but it was just a board. Thank goodness the person doing my construction figured out a way. They need some quality control.

The appearance of the mantle looks fabulous! However, instructions weren’t detailed on how to remove the piece of small wood (which had ‘remove’ written on it) behind the mantle piece. It’s been nailed down and the nail head is embedded in the pine wood..when I tried to wriggle out the small piece of wood it caused the pine wood to become chipped.. there’s three other nailings that are holding in place and if I continue to wriggle out the small piece of wood it’s going to damage the pine wood. Why wasn’t this just snug in place - it would’ve been easier to remove without causing damage?

used over electric fireplace mantle. nice color and look. a little expensive compared to other similar but the distinct look was worth it for a center piece

The product I received looked nothing like the pictures. It is a dull gray with the ugliest huge orange knot in the front. Why is it orange? I’m not installing this awful thing in my house. I would like a replacement, but I’m afraid.After exchanging for another, I am updating my review. Though the second one I received still has an orange knot, it is far smaller and less noticeable. It looks very nice installed.

Grain and rough texture are done very well, very good quality. I stained myself and very happy with end result. No real instructions with flat wood mount, wish it would have come with the wedge design like advertised...

We installed a built-in electric fireplace and mounted this mantel above it. The mantel arrived in great condition, but the styrofoam around it was crushed into snow. But there was no damage to the mantel and it delivered in just days, weeks sooner than others we had ordered elsewhere! The construction seems to be 2x6 boards and is hollow on the inside, but the seams and joints are very tight and sturdy, so it looks like a solid beam except much lighter and easier to install!My one comment is that the wood strip included for mounting to the wall can only hit 3 studs if centered on one, and our installation was centered between two studs. I used a 48” 2x4 to mount across 4 studs using lag bolts rather than the included screws for extra stability, and used the three black screws to attach the mantel to the mounting strip rather than nails as suggested.The final result is perfectly level, rock solid, and looks fantastic. Definitely the perfect mantel for our fireplace upgrade!

Make sure you apply a semi-gloss clear stain (2 coats) before mounting. After installing the leveled mount, you do need assistance from a second person to hold the mantel in place while drilling pilot holes and hammering in about 5 finishing nails. The outcome is awesome as you can see in the picture. Looks great and good value.
