Set it a little higher than the bottom to keep from breaking the bracket when I find a stump with it.

Should not have to replace, I lost the plastic tab had to buy a new one. $51 is hard to swallow for a piece that rlew off and shoots a stream of water higher than my engine. Long story i have used screws to secure it from further problems, make sure they are stainless. Good luck you alll but this is the only permanent solution I have found.
