I won’t know if it passes the test until it fails, I trust it.

Absolutely love this stuff! There bolts on my car exhaust mid pipe would always vibrate loose. A couple drops of this and It stopped all bolts from backing out! Great stuff!

High temperature blue Loctite. Why they need to make so many version is bewildering, and the descriptions are vague and overlapping. There must be a more specific use for each product but they don’t really tell you what it is.

Worked very well for my application, seating the set screws for a rifle gas block. Part has not moved a bit since installation. Bought this item because it has a higher temperature rating than standard blue Loctite. Bottle is small that's true, but likely is enough for hundreds of applications if used properly.

Heat is the enemy of Locktite joints so using the high temperature variety helps keep things secure. However, intentionally heating the joint for easy disassembly becomes less effective, so use only when joints are exposed to a high temperature environment.

It works well, but the bottle is WAY to small to warrant the price.

Yes, the bottle you're buying is the small size but I think price is reasonable for that size. Loctite 246 is for high temp applications, making it a better choice vs regular medium strength blue threadlocker for applications on engines. I've had bolts with the regular blue threadlocker come loose when used on my Harley engine.

Use this if you are fastening nuts/bolts/studs that will be subjected to heat. It is heat resistant to around 400-450 degrees, F. I called Loctite's tech support number ( I got it from a fastener store where I live) and asked which product is good for these situations, and they told me to buy this product. I was using it on studs that hold headers to the head on a water cooled motorcycle. The parts are removable, but you will need to heat the fastener with a heat gun before removal.
