Used this to replace the spotter on my laser. Had to cut off the end to hardwire it but it works great.

Its good for nearby applications but won't project the lines more than a few feet. The cheap lense makes the lines blurry after a short distance. I wanted to mount it to my garage door opener to mark the parking spot instead of a tennis ball on a string. It doesn't project far enough to use for this purpose.
