Pros: Sturdy. Everything comes pre-assembled whereas other racks I've had require all of the straps etc. to be put together. Padding should protect the kayak just fine. The straps that hold the kayaks are plenty long, others I've had are sometimes barely long enough to get around the kayak.Cons: I added washers to the mounting screws, would have been nice to have those included. The tie down straps, while plenty long, do not hold hardly any tension, so when you cinch them down they immediately loosen back up to an almost slack state. I'm not sure how well they'd hold the kayak in place if it took a significant bump.

I used these on a small 4x8' trailer. Mounted on a 2x4' cross bar.I appreciate the connector straps are long. Saw another brand, that had straps only good for small ends of kayaks or narrow paddle boards. These straps were long enough for wider recreational kayaks like what I use.Well made and look good.
