These are heavy duty leathers for a hand pump. Thick and well made. Will last many years compared to the thin leathers that came with the original pump.

I purchased this kit to restore an old hand water pump. The kit is extremely well made. The leather attachment to the “valve flap” is very thick which is what you need to look for which will extend the life of the kit and extend the time between rebuilds. If you have ever rebuilt these pumps you will understand what this means.

This kit saved our old pitcher pump . . . It's not our major source of water, but it's located in an area where there is no electricity. It pumps easily and effectively again. A full bowl of water at the base of the pump is much appreciated by the local wildlife.

I purchased these parts for my cistern hand pump and an Oasis hand Pump over my shallow well. The parts fit both pumps fine. Usually cut my own parts out but was running low on the thicker leather I used to to make the parts.

So this leather repair kit is great. I took apart an old pitcher pump, installed the parts and it all fits great and now the pump works again.

They are made with great quality, and fit perfectly. Works great after many months of use. If you let them go dry, they shrink enough to not work. Then you have to keep them wet for several days to swell again. This is typical of good quality leather, but it is worth noting.
