Josh's Frogs Cholla Skeleton Wood- 6" Long

Cholla wood is great in arid enclosures, where it is very tough and durable. When exposed to humid or wet conditions, cholla wood will break down over time. This can be beneficial when animals are present that consume the biofilm that forms on the wood (such as shrimp or wood eating fish). Great for providing visual barriers and hiding places, Cholla Wood can help animals feel safe and secure.

  • This wood may take a few days to sink in an aquarium

Mounted an orchid on it - perfect! Easy to move for watering - also bought the galvanized hooks.

They look nice. When I got them I put them in a large zip lock bag full of water, replacing the water everyday for about a week, then they stopped turning the water colors.I still haven't put them in tanks yet as I'm in the process of growing some plants on them first.

I rinsed literally over 5 days. I boiled it numerous times for over 30 minutes while changing water throughout the process...and it still tinged my tank with tannins. Idk a resolution for this. But beware of it

Purposely bought the 2-3 inch diameter as this is for a bristle nose pleco to make a new home. The piece I received though is only slightly larger than 2" diameter, but its so thick that the inner diameter is only 1 1/2".. i cant use this.. and in the middle of it, there is a large "dent" in the wood that squeezes it even tighter. Just a FYI if your looking here for a pleco hide out. I have had much better luck with another seller here that I am going back to now.
