The recirculating pump works well after you figure it out. The directions included are only pictures with nothing written to explain how it is hooked up. Only common sense is your guide. Once installed it does what it is supposed to. The unit I received had a defective sensor valve with a hairline crack in the brass causing it to leak under the sink. Trying to get someone at Amazon to understand the issue was mind boggling to say the least. I went back on the Amazon site and ordered a replacement sensor valve that I hope does not leak. Otherwise for the money it's a good system. To make it easier to install I would suggest purchasing two (2) 3/4" brass unions (one for each side of the pump) to make your install go better instead of using couplings.

The spring check was poorly machined the threads weren't tapered and I had to buy another one. Poor quality controlOther than that it seems to work so far

The pump itself appears well made and durable. There are embosed arrows on the pump body to ensure the proper direction of flow. A pair of couplers are provided for under the sink attachment to the hot & cold supply lines, and there appears to be a one-way valve included with the kit. Good. Now for the bad: the Instructuions. These are dismal! A collection of pictures (illustrations) of probably every model of pump made by this company present a collage of connections that are confusing, to say the least! There is no illustration of the pump model I received. There are no instructions for connecting the undersink connectors and water lines. Nothing about th one-way valve and where to connect it. There are no instructions for connecting the pump to the heater. If you've installed a similar pump before, or are a plumber, this may not present a problem but, for a DIY project, this went from exitement to disappointment really fast! The lack of any salient instructions led to wasted time and energy as I went from Ytube to the local home improvement store to try to figure out the right approach to installation. I'll have to invest in additional coupling and connectors to do the installation properly. When I get it done, I'll update this review. Until then, it gets low stars for a poor, ridiculous sheet of graphic illustrations instead of a comprehensive installation guide.

And by "goes both ways", what I mean here is that it can be set up and programmed for either "convenience" (where hot water is always available, regardless of what time of the day it is), or "efficiency", where hot water is available when the timer is set to make it happen - like in the early morning when you're getting up and ready for work. That's pretty flexible, and I like how you can set it up either way. There is a bit of installation here, so it's one of those things that I highly recommend calling in a pro if you're like me, and plumbing just isn't your thing. Plumbing work for me is like transmission work, I can do it if I have to, but I actively try to avoid it, lol.The quality of all the included bits and pieces seems really good, with lots of brass to be found. Overall, I'm a big fan of this, as you can set it up however you like. 5 stars.

This is the perfect option if you have a boondocking rv, sprinter or skoolie. If you wanted to preserve as much water as possible because you spent the majority of the time off the grid this is a good choice for hot showers. In my build the hot water from the shower is filter from the main tank and then used for the shower which diverts the hot water to another filter and then to a separate holding tank the hot water is then recirculated and comes out of the shower once again to be filtered and recirculated again. This essentially allows for an endless hot shower with clean filter water without blowing through tons of water. The water can be dumped after the shower is done..With that being said this pump is perfect for my needs.Until We Meet Again-Off The Grid Ken

I'm very happy with how this works. We completed a new house about a year ago and plumed in a convection loop for our hotwater heater. We were depending on convection from the water heater to circulate the water and it did, kind of. At the other end of the house the water was warmer than the cold but it took quite a while for it to actually get hot. This pump, added to that convection loop made it work like a charm. The pump has a timer on it that can be programmed to kick on and off multiple times per day. Just pick the times when you're home and most likely to need hotwater. The pump is set it and forget it from there. The pump is heavy and seems to be well made. It came with several connections but no a connectio for pex. The fittings are standard sizes so I had no problems getting what I needed from the local hardware store. Honestly, that was the hardest part of the whole thing. You don't even have to use a special electrical connection. The pump just plugs into a wall. That's it, super easy to use.The pump seems well built and substantial, it operates quietly with no vibration. Over all it seems well worth the price.I do want to add one thing. This may save on your water bill if you normally have to let the water run for a while before it gets hot. If set up correctly with a convection loop through your house then it will save on how much water you use. However, there's a trade off. It's going to use a small amount of electricity. I can't quite determine how much yet but I'm trying to track it. For my home it's mostly a matter of convenience and time savings.
