I'm sure it works as a float switch, but this was~half the price of a piggyback plug that i need for a small heater thermostat.

I'd give it a zero if I could. It works the first time it floats but then not again. Reinstalled it and same result.

I purchased this for my well water holding tank. If my water level gets low it shuts off electric to my pump. So my pump doesn’t run & burn out. Easy to install. Pump cord piggybacks on electric cord plug. Can also be used for a sump pump.

I have a sump pump which is over 20 years old. The pump is still great but the float switch had to be replaced. This one worked great! Instead of buying a new pump, all I had to do was to replace the float switch.

The plastic sleeve on the float wire is too thick and inflexible. The float will not tip upwards to trigger the sump pump, even when the entire float is underwater. You will end up with a flooded basement because your sump pump will never trigger.

This float switch, to use in conjunction with a submersible pump, is simple to hook up and use. I like the fact that it also has an ample cord, 10 feet long, to piggyback onto the pump cord. Having this ensures that the pump WILL come on when water reaches a certain level, and hopefully preventing flooding in a basement, which, unfortunately, I have been a recent victim of. With this added to my submersible pump, I am reasonably sure this can prevent future flooding and loss of whatever is stored in the basement! My only quibble is that this comes with NO instructions whatsoever, and thank goodness it is easy to figure out. It came packaged securely with contents intact as well.
