Product Description

This rope core whip will be your best gear, a sophisticated bull whip. Entirely handcrafted from 8 strands of genuine cowhide leather in a dark brown Color. Features a strong but well-balanced handle and a practical wrist strap. 18 inches long Fall and 8 inches cracker, comes with a cracking sound. This whip will be a great cowboy, western whip, or even a realistic movie prop. This elegant, powerful “whip” will put the power in your hand, and definitely make a loud crack. Inspired by the Indiana Jones whip, is well crafted and well balanced light weight whip. Although designed for experienced players, beginners may try their luck with it as well.

Whip Care and using instructions:

Upon delivery your whip will be quite stiff. Don’t worry as this is normal. As you use your whip it will “break in” as we say, becoming more supple over time and adapt to your style of cracking. Think about it like getting a new pair of leather shoes. They too might be a bit stiff and uncomfortable in the beginning, but as you wear them they’ll loosen up and form perfectly to your foot. Refrain from trying to speed up the breaking in process by bending the whip back and forth and putting large amounts of leather dressing-/conditioner on it. Just use it like you normally would and give the whip some time.

Whips should be used properly and given long service. Physical damage such as hitting on sharp objects, gravel, concrete etc, being jammed in doors or truck tailgates, or chewed by dogs or poddy calves, obviously will destroy a whip quickly.

Using the whip with excessive force,

As in seeking the loudest possible crack, will cause early breakage of falls and stretch the bolster of the whip. The usual and preferred crack is that attained with minimum force. A strong wrist action will over-stress the keeper on a whip or the junction on a bullwhip, and will cause early failure. Normal use of these whips should employ very little wrist force.

Style of Inside Construction of whip:

Bullwhip starts with a wood for the handle that provides both a solid foundation and weight to balance the whip while a rope core is an innermost layer inside of the whip which is attached with the wood. Then there is bolster over the rope core and wood handle. The overlay is done in 8, 12 or 16 plaits. All the minute details are taken into account to achieve the look and feel of the original whip.

I like my new whip, Difficult to crack even after fraying the popper at the end. Recommend longer whip for better cracking.

Whip is well made but the fall had some natural leather kinks in it don't know if this will last very long. Also it didn't come with the care manual and 2 extra crackers as stated in description. I'm a novice so the manual would have been helpful.

A completely honest review. This whip is ideal if you are learning, don’t want to spend a lot of money, maybe for cosplay, and you don’t care if it doesn’t last too long. My personal use, on the Second day of using it, the knot that holds the fall fell apart. Sure I could have retightened it and the whip would last x amount of unknown time but I’m not looking for that. The core is also not leather hence the price. For a sum it up, For costumes & learning basics of whip cracking it’s perfect. To pass it down to your great grandson, not happening.

Great value. The quality is good and the price was much more reasonable than competitors. I'm happy with it. Overkill for an Indy costume for most but I already had most of the stuff so it wasn't too much in the end overall. For a beginning whip cracker I would say its a great purchase as well, it seems durable and comes with a replacement nylon cracker. I might give it a try and likely hurt myself in the process.

This whip is the best value for the money. The best whips are stiff out of the box and need to break in with regular use. Devote time to it and the whip will become more supple and crack easier. I returned the 12ft for the 10ft and I must say the 10 ft was the better choice for handling difficulty. Highly functional after the break in period. I definitely recommend this whip.
