When I first told my wife I was ordering rocks from Amazon, she joked it was proof they really do sell everything. But after using these lava stones in my propane fire pit, even she had to admit the difference they make is remarkable.First ImpressionsYes, They’re Rocks—but Great Ones: While it might seem funny to buy rocks online, these are specifically chosen for their heat retention properties and consistent sizing.Instant Ambiance Upgrade: Dumping them into my fire pit transformed it from a basic metal can into something that looks more professional and stylish.Performance & BenefitsBetter Heat Retention: The rocks hold onto warmth, spreading heat more evenly and making fires far more enjoyable on chilly evenings.Improved Efficiency: By distributing and radiating heat effectively, you can often get away with using less propane while still keeping everyone toasty.Wife-Approved Results: After feeling the boosted warmth and seeing the improved flame, my wife had to admit these Amazon-bought rocks weren’t such a bad idea after all!ProsSuperior Heat Distribution: Helps ensure a cozy seating area for everyone around the pit.Easy to Set Up: Simply rinse off any dust and pour them in.Clean, Professional Look: Upgrades the aesthetic of any bare metal fire pit.Durable: Lava stones withstand high heat and repeated use without crumbling.ConsAdds Some Weight: Keep in mind the extra pounds if you’re carrying your fire can for camping or overlanding.Funny Looks: You might get teased for buying rocks online, but the end result speaks for itself!Final ThoughtsSure, ordering “rocks on Amazon” may sound silly at first. But the Ignik FireCan Fire Rocks truly enhance both the efficiency and appearance of a propane fire pit. If you can handle the friendly ribbing, you’ll be rewarded with better heat retention, a more comfortable flame, and a surprising upgrade to your outdoor gathering space.Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 stars.

I tried to be cheap and use lava rock from my local hardware store, which were dusty and didn't provide an even flame. After using the name brand stones, the flame is perfect and I can feel more heat!Highly recommend

They’re heavy and I don’t need the extra weight camping. They also give off a cold blue flame which isn’t what I want in a propane firepit. I opted for lava rocks, half the price, a fraction of the weight (they’re mostly air pockets) and they also give off a more realistic yellow/orange flame. I love the Ignik FireCan but they missed the mark with this style of rock.

Purchased for my ignik fire pit deluxe. They are as described and the quality is good. Only complaint is I could use like 5 to 6 more to cover the burners in the firepit. Don't want to buy another set, so I'll just go with what I got. Sort of happy - Sort of a let down.

Took me a while to finally pull the trigger on these and I can't believe I didn't buy them on day 1. They actually give the ignik fire can a more natural looking flame.

Number 1 ..... 5 pounds is just a little shy of what is needed to nicely cover the gas burner.2. With how much the Firecan cost up front, the rocks should be included!
