It seems that almost all two cycle implements I buy come not equipped with a fuel shutoff valve, which probably saves the manufacturer all of $0.50. That means if I want to keep the carburetor from gumming up on storage, I have to drain the fuel tank (which is generally a pain) and then run the engine until residual fuel runs dry. The smaller range of clamps in this set offers a reasonable alternative; just clamp the fuel line in some convenient spot and run the carb dry. The larger clamps are relatively useless for this application due to space restrictions on many power tools but I expect I'll find some use for them. A con for these clamps is that they are a bit pricey. . A pro is that they provide more positive closure than the typical lab-style pinch clamp.

These are completely functional and will work. I have a similar set from HF which is powdercoated red, these are only zinc coated. I've used these on rubber fuel hoses, but mostly on heater and coolant lines when I need to remove a radiator without draining the entire engine. They don't leave any damage on the rubber lines. You might be able to use them on rubber brake lines as well, but be careful not to smash the lines to hard. It's a good set, especially if you catch it on sale.

This review is for the Hose Clamp Off Tool set. The U-shaped clamp with the open gate allow these to be placed without opening the screw all the way which is convenient for placing and removing. The clamp relies on the friction of the hose being clamped against the flat top of the gate to prevent accidental opening so mind the angle of the gate as you tighten. The product images on the page of the clamp in use aren’t all entirely correct. These do the job better than bulky medical clamps or binder clips, but currently priced at $4 each, they are a little pricey for two pieces of metal and a plastic screw knob.

Four metal hose clamps of various sizes with a thumbnut to tighten the clamp down.I used the smallest of these clamps to stop the flow of fuel to my generator and it does a nice job.It is easy to swing on or off the hose.I would not trust it to hold a larger hose that is under pressure ensuring a leak-free situation, but if there is no pressure they all work fine from small fuel hoses to large radiator hoses.

Good to have around, there's only one of each size which annoys me, because usually you will need to clamp off both sides to do something or it will drain. They're easy to use though, and I use them for boat winterizing. Also when I need to open my vehicle cooling system, they save me money on coolant.

Taking a small engine apart and these work great. I normally use the plastic pliers style but these are nice as they don't get in the way as much when clamped. Just slip them over the hose, crank the knob and no more drips.

Simple design. Works well. Comes in a variety of sizes, has good holding power. Due to its cut out design, it's easy to slip on and off. But it's also easy to slip off while tightening. Just need to have a steady hand and pay a little more attention than I was expected to, but it's definitely still good overall.
