Would never clean a firearm again without a bore-snake. Makes it very simple and very effective.

Boresnakes are great. I always stay away from all of the cotton swabs and mess you have to have to clean your firearm the traditional way. I stuff this in my rangebag with some cleaning solution and oil and I can field strip and do a quick maintanence with the bore snake. They are extremely durable and I've seen no signs of wear or tear and I've used mine for a very long time. One pass through the barrel after letting it soak in some cleaning solution and the integrated brush and cleaning end get all the carbon and filth in one sweep. If my boresnake gets dirty, I just wash it off and it's good as new. I'd definately recommend this to anyone who doesn't want to spend 2 hours cleaning their firearms.

I still catch myself procrastinating a bore clean, but these snakes make it so easy.

Researched hundreds of gun cleaning kits before finally comin to conclusion that most of em were just a bunch of unnecessary stuff in a cheap crappy case thatll crumble in mere time. Decided to keep It simple & buy a few key things individually. Boyfriend thought this seemed a little odd when first opened It but was very pleased after use. It got his 40 cleaner than anything else has so far. Ive recently seen the same one in stores for higher than what I paid so that helps too! So far a pleasing purchase.

I'm in no way an expert. I'm new to gun ownership and I'm enjoying going to the range as a hobby, but cleaning my gun with patches takes a good bit of time and patches. This boresnake cuts my cleaning time practically in half. I can just pass this baby through once, twice, for the hell of it and that barrel is clean. And since it's washable it's going to be so useful over and over again.

These boresnakes are a real time saver. They are an all in one quick cleaning system. I ended up buying two to make it an even quicker process for cleaning my Glock 23 .40 cal. After shooting 100 rounds through my pistol, I like to use #7 on this bore snake to really get a deep clean, and it removes all residue. The built in copper brush, and easy pull through design, make it a breeze. I be done cleaning and oiling in 5 minutes! A must have!

I purchased this one for my Glock 23 and Beretta 96 after getting two other ones previously, one for my 12 gauge and one for my 10/22. They make cleaning super fast and easy. Just drop the weighted brass piece that has the caliber stamped on through the barrel, the way the bullet travels, and pull. There is a built-in brass brush in the first couple inches of the cleaning cloth that gets most of the build up in the first pass. I repeat the process a few times and the last time I spray Hoppe's 9 cleaning solution on the end of the snake which leaves the barrel 100% clean and oiled. To clean the snake, put it into a tube sock, tie off the top and trough it in the wash. These are the greatest products and would recommend them to any gun owner!

Let me start out this review stating I am a former infantry machinegunner Marine of 5-1/2 years with 2 deployments and a whole ton of training. I've cleaned just rifle barrels for HOURS before. I've spent whole days cleaning one or two weapon systems. Running endless patches soaked in solevant through the bore from breach to muzzle. Doing it one or two patches at a time. The boresnake can do the job of 100 patches with one pull. Its extremely easy to use as well. So lets say you've come back from the field and shot hundreds or even thousands of rounds thru your rifle, not only that but its been raining and you've even managed to get mud and other dirt and crud in your weapon. All you'd have to do is use your cleaning rod to knock out the physical chunks of mud or whatever crud out the weapon, then drench your bore with the solvent of your choice, CLP or whatever, I like rem oil and their line of gun cleaners, then pull the snake thru the barrel. Drench the bore in solvent again for a second pass if needed, the barrel in just 2 passes will be shiney and as clean as it was when you first pulled it from the armory. Then I usually will load up the barrel with lubricant just to keep it clean. If its going to be sitting in a clean, dry, safe armory I usually soak it in a little excess oil and wipe it down again the next time I take it out to the field. If you have the correct caliber snake for the barrel then you should feel a little resistance pulling it thru just like you would if you are using patches instead, you can even make the snake a little thicker by bunching it up just a bit, its easier to show then tell. The boresnake is washable too so you can gently clean it with hot soapy water and leave it out for the sun to dry. This doesn't mean you should throw away your cleaning rod because you may still need it but this snake will be your go to tool when cleaning rifle barrels for average use.

The Boresnake works like a charm. I can run it thru the barrel as many times as needed to get the heavy lead and powder out. Its much quicker than changing pads on a metal rod, and it can be washed and reused. The brass wire imbedded in the rope scrubs the barrel as it passes thru and the tappered rope pulls the loosened particles out. Saves time and money. I have them in various sizes to accomodate the different caliber guns I own.
