I recently purchased the iSteady M6 3-axis gimbal stabilizer. I believe this is a must have add on. It is not very intuitive, so there is a learning curve. Do yourself a favor and read the manual. And check out the excellent online resources. This device simplifies what can be a frustrating and technically demanding endeavor. Your lighting effects. If you buy the iSteady M6, don't forget to order this at the same time. It will simplify your life and improve the quality of your videos.

This little attachment comes with an AI camera which helps track you when you are shooting by yourself but also can be used as light. The light you can adjust the brightness White balance & it can also use it as an RGB color to add some color to your video. All of the is can be controlled directly from the gimbal so it is very easy to use.

Somebody wrote a two-star review on here about how it cuts your face off if you're close in, but this person forgot to read the manual. Out of the box, my unit did cut my face off, just like his. I then made the calibration gesture (which kind of looks like you're framing your face with your hands), moved my face to where I wanted it to be, and made the gesture again. From then on, it tracked my face perfectly at the exact position I'd asked it to. I will admit that the gesture was a little finicky the first time I tried it (turns out it works best if you make your "frame" *around* your face and not in front of it), but it did work exactly as advertised.On to the other thing not made clear in the Amazon listing that should be: The magnetic attachment mechanism is reversible, meaning that you can point the sensor in either direction to allow its use with both cameras. The listing mentions that you can use it with both cameras, it just doesn't explain how. Turns out it's really easy -- yank it off, turn it around, and snap it back on. Done. I was a little worried about it, but it's basically the best possible implementation, so I'm happy there too.Last thing -- the fill light. It is exactly what it says - a *fill light*. It is not a primary light, and it wont be enough for you to shoot brightly lit scene in pure darkness. Combined with the light built-in to my phone it does pretty well (noticeably better than the phone's light alone), but if you really want some lumens, you'll need an external light. Hohem does mention that it's 1 watt ... but that doesn't translate well for a lot of people. Think "LED keychain light". If you think about it, it'll make sense -- this thing is very small, and has to dissipate heat from the LED, the AI processor, and the camera. A very bright LED light typically has a large and heavy heat sink, which this thing CANNOT have because it gets mounted on the gimbal, and every ounce of weight is another ounce that the gimbal has to move. Anyway, for what the light is (intended to fill in your face on close-in shots), it's adequate. The brightness and color temperature of the light are controllable with the gimbal's built-in controls. If I could give Hohem some advice, it'd be to add a way to turn tracking on and off and enter/exit the calibration mode using the gimbal's controls too. While the gesture controls are neat, buttons are more practical and less finicky.Overall, this thing is super cool, and if you read the directions, does what it says it will.

What an amazing little AI Tracking Sensor & Fill Light. And it's easy to learn. Play with it for less than 5 min and you are good to go. Just the one switch to turn it on. No other buttons or anything else on the sensor itself. A red light and 2 quick flashes tell you it's ready to go. The fill light is fun. Hold down the gimbal multifunction wheel to turn it on. Then the wheel adjusts the intensity of the white light. Click the wheel 3 times and you switch to RGB mode for some mood lighting. Now the wheel changes color and intensity. The AI tracking, is more than fun. This is where it shines! It's brings your iSteady M6 gimbal to life. Simple, easy to remember gestures to start tracking, stop tracking and adjust what you are tracking. The gestures are different enough that the system can't get confused. Strong magnetic connection between the tracking sensor and the gimbal that works in either direction. Go from front facing to rear facing camera by taking the sensor off, turning it around and putting it back on. It's that easy. Nothing extra to charge. It draws power directly from the gimbal. Works perfectly in landscape or portrait mode. Now you can be animated and not worry so much about going out of frame when recording yourself. Even better, when you are recording someone else you can more easily interact with your subject because, once set, the sensor tracks them for you. Added bonus, the iSteady M6 gimbal case was designed with the AI Tracking Sensor in mind. Leave the tracking sensor on the gimbal and it fits right back into the carrying case. 10 stars!
