Now in it's second snow winter, this works well to melt snow on our entrance pavers.

Can’t wait to see how it works in the snow. Installation was smooth, instructions easy to read. Called a professional electrician for hook up. No issues. Will be installing the driveway soon.

I took a chance and added one of these to our big landscaping project to give our vacation home in snowy Massachusetts a better entrance. We are blessed to have this place and I want to say we work to help eliminate lack of and substandard housing. My landscaper had never done a snow melt mat and I'm handy enough to just go for it. I put a layer of 3/4 inch pink ridgid foam, a little sand, mat fastened with garden fabric staples, more sand and then pavers.I ran the mat cold lead thru concrete block basement wall and 1/2 flex conduit to the lamppost where I mounted the sensor/controller.Controller instructions are great but you need to be comfortable with wiring diagrams. Controller has dry relay contacts and can be externally triggered via relay or switch on its side. I plan to connect controller to home automation system to get an email when triggered and possibly allow manual trigger of a melt cycle.Controller has green light when powered which blinks when doing melt cycle.Been working GREAT. The melt area is just a little narrow (see pic) but paying double for wider coverage would be too much. It would take a while to clear a really deep snow but a quick shoveling would catch it up and clear the end of storms. I'm very pleased with performance, quality of controller, and tech support when I called to clarify a question about sand depth.

Great product. High quality and it really works! I laid the wires on too of the rebar and then poured the concrete. That easy. Needs a 240V hookup, but easy enough for handyman or my electrician. Check out the incredible effectiveness in the attached pictures. Love the auto on feature. If you want to keep snow off your driveway, walkway, whatever...order this product. I live in SW Colorado and this is a godsend. Needed the walkway area clear for visiting grandmas and it worked perfectly.

tldr - if you are wondering if this heating system works, the answer is it works great and you should buy it.Long story:Bought the 85sqft system for a path from my house to my woodworking shop in august 2019. We hired a contractor to make the path and install the heating system this past summer. Hired an electrician to hook it up to power. First snow storm this year, and snow didn't melt. I called the vendor and quickly was transferred to engineer Josh who immediately knew this was a wiring issue. The electrician had done it wrong. Josh gave me his personal cell number so we could FaceTime. Within 10-15 minutes he walked me though the wiring fix. Through FaceTime Josh verified my work and asked that I let him know how it works out at the next snow storm. There were a few smaller snow falls, but I wanted to wait for the next big storm before writing this review.Over last night and today (12/24-25) in NE Ohio a snow storm dropped 10+ inches of snow, and is still snowing. As you can see in the attached picture, the paver path is free from snow and ice. My only regret is that I didn't get a slightly larger system because the 85sqft was not quite long enough. You can see very clearly where the heating elements cover. If I have another project where I need to heat my driveway or a pathway, I will come directly back to the SnowMeltz product.

We had this installed on our front walkway before we had 2” bluestone laid on top of it. After our first snowfall, the walkway was completely melted and dry after about 4 hours. Check out my before, during and after photos. One of the best investments we ever made. I’m thinking about doing the same thing for my driveway before I have it blacktopped.
