This is a great set for a beginner or someone for occasional use. They offer a nice selection of the more coarse grits, basically the pre polish stages. As far as consumables go, they do not last as long as more expensive products, but will endure enough to give a beginner a good idea of what grits will suit them best.Overall, these lap disks function as described, though will not last very long. For light or experimental use, I recommend purchasing. For heavy daily use I suggest looking for more suitable disks.

The diamond flat lap disc works well and is easy to mount and balance. It looks durable and matches the quality you'd expect for the price. If you're looking for a reliable and well-made lap disc, this one is a solid choice.

These do a great job on agates. They mount to the tool easily and are properly balanced. I have run into no issues after having used several of them for a decent length of time and polishing a lot of nice agates.

The discs are good quality, at least for a hobbyist, and the lower grits are good for the first stages of polishing. The grit identifying part of the label is punched out when used, and then you can't identify the grit. So you'll need to find a way to mark them, maybe with a permanent marker on the backside, or put them in a plastic bag or envelope and mark that. They're good for polishing any sort of rock or gem. And they're from a known brand of abrasives, so it's not a generic one that you've never heard of before. I'm happy with these, they've done a good job on what I've used them with, and would get them again when they wear out.
