I’ve been assessing my tool inventory and seeing what would make my life a little easier. I really don’t want to stop in the middle of a job, sharpen or perform maintenance on a tool, to then start again. One of my use cases was to have a spare lawn mower blade ready to go. Having a couple of them would spread the wear across two and having them sharp and ready would be a bonus. This is where these flap discs come in. These flap wheels allow me to perform a touch up on the blade, get it to sharp again, put it away and have it ready the next time the blade needs to be replaced. You can use flap wheels for all sorts of things. For right now, this is my use case. At $14.99 for 5, that’s a pretty good deal. These will go on sale, or a coupon every so often to get the cheaper. Having a few of these, I won’t have to buy more anytime soon. Overall, these do the job that I need them for.

These do a great job cleaning up scratches in metal after using a flap disc to clean up welds. After using these it looks polished and is ready for paint.

Since there is no labeling on the actual flap discs you need to trust that you receive what you order. I ordered 240 grit, but in the listing the 320 grit are the same color. The 120 grit and the 180 grit are also shown as the same color. There are some lines visible in the 240 and not in the 320. If this is always true I don''t know. This is why I gave these disc only 3 stars. And I will put 2 of these discs on a shelf and in a year I won't remember what grit they are. So I will be making some info labels for them. There are no images in the listing showing labels on these flap discs, so they are not misrepresented. They run well. No vibration. Easy to control on steel. They conform to rounded surfaces nicely. This is why I ordered them, for removing light rust from pipes. They leave a consistent finish on steel. They seem aggressive to me, for being 240 grit. But, this could be because I am more often using 240 grit abrasives on a DA sander or a belt sander. Of course, both these machines run at a slower speed than a right angle grinder. The listing states for "wood furniture paint refinishing". I have been doing finishing work for years. I don't feel I would want to used these discs for removing paint from wooden furniture. For one thing these discs produce a rotational pattern, which would be cutting across the wood grain at an angle and I would also have control concerns on wood because of their aggressive nature. I would certainly do a lot of testing first, if I decided to try it.These discs seem to have a good service life. I am not going further in finishing to get a high polish. So knowing what exact grit I am using is not so important on my current project. If I was going for a mirror finish I would be more concerned about where I was regarding progressing through the grit levels. So for function I would go with 4 - 5 stars. But, only 3 stars because of lack of grit information.

I recently used the Junchamp 5Pcs 120 Grit Scour Flap Disc 4.5" Coarse Polishing Grinding Wheel to remove paint, rust, and filler from a fender, and while it did get the job done, there are some pros and cons to consider.Pros: The flap disc cuts through paint, rust, and filler very aggressively. It’s effective at quickly stripping surfaces, saving time on tough tasks. If you need a powerful disc to tackle these materials, this product delivers in that regard.Cons: One issue I encountered was the excessive air movement—it literally sucked the disc into the fender, which I wasn’t expecting. It must be used flat, or it will dig in quickly, making it a bit tricky to control at times. The price isn’t the best I’ve seen for this type of product, and the disc seems to wear out faster than expected. Another downside is that I couldn't use my grinder’s protective guard because the discs were slightly too big.Overall, the Junchamp flap discs perform well for heavy-duty tasks but require some care and attention to avoid damage or frustration. Considering the price and wear rate, I’d rate this product 3 out of 5 stars.

I got the 120 grit version, and while the product page says it won’t harm the metal surface, you still have to be super careful. These discs are pretty aggressive. I ran one against a steel flat bar, and it shined it up so fast that I thought it was actually removing material. They work great for rust removal and general cleanup, but if you’re working on a more delicate project, like anything automotive, these might not be the best option. For tougher jobs where you need quick results, they do the job well.

I needed some higher grit discs for lighter or finishing work before painting, after using a lower grit flap disc. This seems to do the trick and works very well. You may have to be a bit gentler with it than some other flap discs as otherwise you may wear it out to quickly, but with a little practice and TLC they should hold up alright. All in all I’m pleased with it and a good addition to the other discs in my arsenal.

I refinish furniture and am always looking for a way to sand or strip the paint off the piece that I am working on. These will be great to use, the fact that they. Come in different grits is great, I just wish that they came in a mixed grit package! I will be sure to order more in different grits! I think these will be a huge asset to me when working on my furniture.
