So glad Amazon, our favorite, had this item. We really needed it because ours was shot. This one works great. Great solution without having to buy a whole new fan.

We didn’t even have to program this remote - it worked perfectly right after we put the batteries in. It matches the original remote from the instructions.

The remote for this Hampton Bay fan, which is in our living room, conked out. I could still operate the fan by using the electric wall switch, but that was only for on and off. I could not change speeds, change the direction of the fan or turn on the light.I started looking at universal remotes, but the voltage was off. I found the Hampton Bay Remote with the Red Button, that looked similar, but read not to order for fans that had a green button on the remote. After more searching, I found the green button remote. Ordered it even though I had to pay for shipping. In the long run, it's cheaper than having to replace the fan. I received the remote a few days after ordering.I put the batteries in, and nothing. It didn't work. I had read about the little buttons inside the remote that set the frequency, so, I set about trying to set them by trial and error. On the third try, setting buttons 1 and 2 down and 3 and 4 up, everything worked. I'm so happy to have the fan back in full working order. Thank you!

This unit does also replace the FAN-9T green light button remote. I tested all functions and they all work fine. The one problem I have is the strength of the signal from the new remote control to the receiver in the fan is not as strong as the original remote. I use to lay the old remote on the night table in a bedroom and it worked fine at about 9 ft to the receiver in the fan. For this new remote, it is hit or miss on the receiver getting the signal. I use the temperature function on the remote to turn the fan off at a set temperature during the night but sometimes the signal to turn it off doesn't get thru so the fan runs all night. I then mounted the remote on an interior wall which put it about 8 ft and I have the same problem. If I hold the remote which puts it closer to the fan it works fine as the distance is shorter.at about 6 ft. If distance from remote to fan is a concern in your application then beware.

I've been looking for a very long time for a remote to go to a fan and light system for the FAN9T remote. You can buy a remote with different buttons or a new remote and wiring system to link up to it. This remote has the same button set-up (for/rev) button on the top right and (Fan Auto) on the top left. The only difference was the yellow button is green and the sync up switches (inside under the batteries) are different. It worked perfect as soon as I put the batteries in! I had all the sync-up settings on the fan itself set to all 4 up top. the remote came with all 4 set to the top setting. There is a dimmer option is you read the directions. it takes a real small tool or screw driver to slide it to "on" but after that it is just like the original remote. hold the green (what used to be yellow) button down and it dims through out all the light percentage settings. Love that I didnt have to pay an arm and a leg.... like other remotes for almost 3 times as much on amazon. I read some of the reviews on this and was nervous because some said it didnt work with their fan, but I think it might have been a sync-up switch overlooking. you know.... All 4 were up on the remote but 1st one down and the other 3 up on the fan receiver... only a guess but im VERY happy for this awesome $14.00 worked perfectly remote. The only differnce for my FAN9T remote was just the green button instead of the yellow button... big deal! Let there be light!!!!

So, the original remote died, and no amount of pounding by the wife would bring it back to life. After careful research, I decided to try this replacement remote. Heck, it was only a little more than $20 with shipping. If you are looking for a remote for your Hampton Bay Windward II, which, if it's the same as mine, is reversible, make sure your remote has that function. There is a replacement remote that looks like the right one, but what would be the "forward/reverse" button on the original remote is "Fan Timer" on that one. Be careful, lest you get the wrong remote. The replacement remote arrived in a timely manner (not as fast as Prime), and, to my delight the remote code matched that of the fan, so no climbing to sync the codes was necessary. Bottom line is that everything is working fine, except the new remote does not allow the dimming and brightening of the fluorescent bulb as did the original. The light is either on or off. Not a problem, though.
