HOW TO USE
- This is the remote control for the ceiling fan. They should match the switches on the transmitter inside the ceiling fan.
- As long as the fan has the receiver in it this remote will work with your Hampton Bay ceiling fans.
- Just remember to set the 4 dip switches inside the battery compartment(they are kinda hidden behind the slot for the battery itself).
- Look inside the old remote with the battery cover off, there is a series of "DIP" switches(4) with a pen.
- Slide the switches in the new remote to match the same pattern as the old remote.
- Replace the battery in the new remote and things should work.
- There are 16 different frequencies for the Hampton Bay fans, so you would have to play with the combinations.
- Here are the frequency list:(0 is down and 1 is up) 0000, 0001, 0010, 0100, 0110, 0101, 0011, 0111, 1111, 1110, 1101, 1011, 1001, 1010, 1100, 1000
PRECAUTIONS
- This Remote system is compatible with most Ceiling Fans except those that have built-in and Do not use with solid state fans
- Please note that there is same appearance of remote control with the FOR/REV button, but this is a timer function, the two transmitters need to correspond to different receivers, otherwise the timing and reverse function will not be available.
- The red indicator on the transmitter will light when one of the buttons is pressed.

These did not work for my Harbor Breeze fan. I matched the dip switches but could only get the fan to start sometimes, but I could never turn it off. I tried a variety of different dip switch settings matched between remote and fan of course, but it made no difference. I'm glad the return process is easy otherwise I may have just purchased new fans instead of trying new remotes.

The remote on my ceiling fan got corroded in the battery area, and I needed to figure out how to operate it. After trying to clean out the battery component, I looked on Amazon and found this one and it worked directly out of the box. It was an easy replacement because it was so inexpensive.
