Can’t get your hands on a sds max? Then this thing is perfect for you! If using for 1/2” ground rods, sleeve a piece of your se/urd sheathing around it first. Holds the head still and won’t bend your rods. Would recommend! (Picture Example)

This device provides a much larger area for driving a ground rod with a sledge hammer and mostly prevents to top of the ground rod from mushrooming. However, it does deform the top a little - the hole should be more rounded where it contacts the top of the rod.

Nice large target to hit when driving an 8 foot ground rod into the ground! I installed a clamp,prior to driving the rod into the ground.Would not have had to. The top of the rod still looks about line it did,before I started. The driver,was easy to hit,and I am really glad I have it.

The striking surface makes much more easier for them to hit that target accurately and every time.>> If you're an electrical apprentice, then don't give your electrical foreman the satisfaction of hitting yourself in the legs when you know that's exactly what he wants to do to you, but can't! This is a great solution to driving grounding rods into the ground. The caps fit and are sturdy and strong enough to withstand a sledge hammer pounding on the rods without any damage. Drove two rods 8' deep into a hard clay soil in less than 30 minutes. It's a great product. It came to my door the day after ordering it!
