GHB 20A 12V 24V Solar Charge Controller Auto Switch LCD Solar Panel Battery RegulatorGHB 20A 12V 24V Solar Charge Controller Auto Switch LCD Solar Panel Battery RegulatorThis is a small regulater/charger. about 7x5x1 1/2".Not for Lithium batteriesNot MTTP type charger.it has easy wire connections, better than some others out there.Should be able to take a #10 guage wire if you split it on the tension plate terminal.auto select 12v / 24vIt is protected for various problems that can occur. The display is a CLEAR DIGIT display.Normal LED displays have black digits. There is NO backlight. It requires light to be on the display to be able to read it.It can be washed out if outside in the sun and it displays best if the light source is behind you or youare using a flashlight.MY USEI have several cheaper regulators that charge the batteries on my car and RV that sit for a while. These cheaper priced regulators do not tell you the current charge and some not the voltage either. So I needed one I can use as a portable to check the charges of my units. This is small enough and easy enough to connect to get the info I needed. The display is good enough and clear to read for my needs. It is only 20 amp max but for this price point and what you are getting, it was a deal.Depending on your solar array and the current it puts out (there are many differentways to make an array work for your regulators and you can run more than one regulatorin parallel on your batteries.)No blue tooth, no apps, just a basic regulator that would be good to keep as a spare as the price is right.Check out the sellers sight before buying as they seem to be an athletic sports ware store, not asolar power equipment store. But the regulator is working great for me.I will RECOMMEND this solar regulatorI do not know the seller nor did I get any money or product for my random review.240916 1153

I bought this solar charge controller to build a generator-capable UPS unit for my home network equipment. Most standard home/desktop UPS units require clean 60hz sine wave in order to operate correctly. That means that they do not function on most standard generators. Facing rolling blackouts and safety power shutdowns in Northern California, I purchased a generator. It was not, however, an inverter generator. Most UPS devices will not charge from a regular generator. That means even when my house is running on my generator, I only have the backup power in my UPS to run my equipment, then I have rewire everything to run off generator power, which only runs when the generator is running.I used this solar controller connected to a 50Ah 12v battery, and a 120VAC to 12vdc power supply connected to the solar input. The 120VAC 12v power supply can be connected to grid power, or to noisy generator AC - it doesn't matter, it runs the same - and the controller will keep my battery topped off. If I turn off my generator, or I am without grid power, the system will continue to run off the 12v battery.I can run 3 8-port ethernet switches, 2 wifi routers, my Blink camera system, smart home controller, and cable modem for over 1 day without recharging the batteries - this is a big improvement over a standard UPS. In reality, I will run my generator a few hours on a daily basis to recharge the system. I have skipped the inverter entirely, which makes the whole system more efficient, and instead use DC-DC converters to get the required 12v, 9v, 5v that I need for my various devices. In a pinch, I can still hook up an inverter to the battery and have AC power if needed.I would note that the "load" screw terminals on this device ARE NOT power regulated to 12v when the battery is charging - it jumps to 13.8v or so. Not a big deal, because I just run DC-DC converters anyway, so I do get regulated 12vdc, 9v, and 5v as needed. The 12v round connectors, however are regulated to about 12.1v.I like the 2 USB ports, but they seem to be limited to about 500mA. I'm not sure how much current I can draw from the 12v regulated barrel connectors.I am not sure if the out Amp meter is very accurate... it shows 0 for me most of the time.So far, this is a great system that more than exceeds my requirements as a generator-capable UPS for a home network system.Update: The 12vdc regulated round connectors are what the display measures as the output current. The load terminals and USB ports appear not to be included in the output current measurement. That being said, I can only run about 1.2 amps before stuff starts getting weird and not working correctly. For now, I'll run my inverter connected directly to the battery that this solar controller unit is charging. The inverter runs a power strip with the various power bricks for the network devices. I would like to go straight regulated DC and skip the inverter, but that seems like more of a hassle to implement.
c'est la vie🎉😘
