This smaller version of George Foreman's famous "as seen on TV" Lean Mean Fat-Reducing Grilling Machine is perfect for preparing quick, low-fat meals for one or two people. The double-sided grill surface heats in less than five minutes to an even temperature perfect for grilling most foods. The high grill grooves and slight angle allow fat to run off the grill as food cooks, and the nonstick surface requires little or no additional fat for cooking. The plastic, grooved spatula works well to scrape off any bits that may have stuck to the surface.

Meats and fish are the obvious choices to take advantage of the Grilling Machine's fat-reduced grilling, but vegetables and tofu dogs work well too. The double-sided grill means food cooks twice as fast, leaves attractive grill marks, and generates surprisingly little smoke. --Julija Gelazis

I bought this item back in 2004 and it lasted several years. I remember it being one of the "original" variations of the George Foreman Grill. It definitely worked like it was intended and the grease drained into the catch pan. In the years since I bought this item, I've had several different newer forms of the George Foreman Grill. If you want to eat healthy and get ride of the fat, this is the product for you. The only issue I remember with this item is that no matter how well you think you'd cleaned the grill, there would still be grease that gets into the hinge that opens and closes the grill. For what I paid for the grill in 2004, it was worth the money. I'm not sure if the current price is worth it. You can find newer variations of the George Foreman grill for likely cheaper.

And I mean that. I love cooking my own food, but at the same time I hate it. Mainly because it's time consuming and also there are a lot of dishes like pots and pans that need to be cleaned up afterwards. Also with certain foods like chicken I'm always cutting into it while it's cooking to make sure its done or not. Not with the Foreman though. This thing is just incredible. I've had mine for about 3 months now and I'm extremely happy with it. I can cook a big meal for myself in about 10 minutes and have nothing to wash except for the plate I ate off. Chicken comes out so perfect and juicy. My salmon is incredible. Burgers, Steak Strips, BEEF BEEF BEEF....everything comes out perfect. Foreman made cooking food much more fun, much more easy, and much more tasty. So far my plastic drip dish hasn't melted at all and doesn't look like it will. The plastic fork I use just to take the food off the grill and it works great since it's grooved just right to fit the ridges in the grill. Some people complain about the grill not closing all the way, but that really does not hinder the food cooking at all. I put a 2 inch piece of chicken on the grill and it fit perfect because the grill doesn't have to close all the way. And the chicken cooked just fine amd juicy.Cleaning the grill is really easier than most people are making it sound. You dont even need to have the grill heated up. I just take a sponge with hot water and everything comes off easy as pie. Really people..it's a snap. Also when I first bought it, my roommate laughed at me and said that it would be a waste. 3 months later after using it a bunch of times...he's converted. Just tonight he started yelling from the kitchen how we need to have 4 of these in the house instead of just one. This was a STEAL for 10 bucks (some Friday Amazon sale). I would've happily paid 25 bucks for this...if not more.

I have used this machine a couple dozen times now, and with great success. Fish, burgers, egglplant, greenbeans, chicken breast...-- Meat, cooked from both sides, is done very quickly (Ignore the hamburger packaging that tells you to cook for ten minutes)-- You'll enjoy watching the excess fat drip into the small drip-tray instead of sticking to a metal cooking pot that you'd have to scrub clean later.-- Eggplant came out soft and delicious. Green beans were crispy and juicy.-- There are no temperature settings. There is not even an on/off switch. Plug it in to pre-heat & cook, unplug it when you're finished. The only thing you need to control is the timer on your microwave. (I overcooked tuna steaks when I first got this grill, so that they were a little dry. Since then, I have learned to shorten the cooking time). -- Cleanup: the best part. Clean with a wet paper towel or damp sponge. Especially easy while still warm. Use NO abrasives. (I use nothing other than the water that dampens the paper towel. -- Smoke: Yes, there is a bit of smoke and steam that escapes, especially when I'm cooking beef & I lift the grilltop to add more seasoning. I usually grill by the window, so it's not a problem. -- Size: the one drawback. If you're cooking for two, it's not easy to cram more than hamburger patty on this thing. Consider a larger one. -- Price: note that there's a special shipping fee. The total price was still lower than that offered at my local store, though.

I bought the George Foreman grill as a joke for my husband (it DOES say "Lean Mean Fat-Reducing Grilling Machine" on it), but we used it for three weeks solid after it arrived. The reason? It's EASY, and the food turns out really tasty! This particular model is big enough only for two hamburgers (if you make them to fit... pre-frozen patties are too big and have to be cooked one at a time). More often, you have to cook one portion of meat at a time. The grill is tilted and comes with a trough so that all excess fat is drained away from your food. Pretty nifty! It's also fairly easy to clean up -- you just wipe down the grill and throw the trough in the dishwasher. We've used the grill for chicken breasts, Boca Burgers, regular burgers, pork chops, steaks, and even bacon strips (it's GREAT for avoiding a bunch of messy bacon grease). It cooks even frozen meat in a relatively short period of time, and it cooks it thoroughly. It's easy to throw something on the grill, sprinkle some seasonings on it (BAM!), and let it cook for a few minutes while you fix the rest of the meal. It is hard to overcook things, and it's fun to have grill-lines on your food.It was hard for me to believe the hype about the George Foreman Grills, but they are easy to use and deliver good results. In fact, this might be a good way to introduce your older children (12 and up) to rudimentary cooking. The George Foreman grill would be great for people who don't have a lot of time to cook & clean, who aren't yet confident cooks or don't have a lot of cooking experience. This small model would work in a dorm suite, a bachelor pad, for newlyweds, or anyone who doesn't want to feed a crowd (although you could do it with this one, it would just take awhile).
