What is Raclette?
Raclette is a semi-hard cow's milk cheese that is most commonly used for melting. The cheese is heated and then scraped onto diners' plates. I used this for a small dinner party and really enjoyed it. I do wish the cord was longer but it did the job with an extension cord.

I happened to see this Raclette grill for sale in a Strasbourg hardware store during a recent trip to Europe and was so tickled to find it available here in the US as well! It's super easy to clean and the trays are sized perfectly for slices of Raclette cheese (Trader Joe's sells it pre-sliced, seasonally). We break it out at parties and it's always a hit. Add some things to melt cheese on, a good bottle of wine and your conversation skills for a wonderful evening with your own gang.

Heating elements do not get hot enough to heat thru the plates that go on top so it won't cook ur food. Got this for my son for xmas bc he loves Korean bbq, but he is trying to give it back to me now bc he says it won't actually cook anything. Very cool in appearance, picked this one bc of the dual cooking plate surfaces. Worthless though if it won't actually cook ur food.

Did not come with the small spatulas to remove the melted cheese from the little pans. You should consider including those to increase usability w/o having to make another purchase. The device worked quite well otherwise! To enhance cleaning after use, I placed tin foil over the base where the cheese pans sit.

After struggling with a different brand of Raclette grill, I was skeptical. But this one works perfectly! We tested it the other night and had a wonderful time. Will use it with confidence at a party next time. doesn't come with tools, so be sure to add wooden spatula & tongs and real raclette cheese for the full experience. At this low price you can pick the ones that will work best for you.Pro tip: oil the stone before using to reduce sticking. And don't worry about discolorations on the stone. That's just a way of remembering previous evenings of fun and conversation.

This works well and is easy to use. I just wish I’d bought one with a larger cooking surface. This really isn’t big enough to cook enough for the 8 trays of melted cheese for 8 people. However, I am having a great time making raclette. I highly recommend his for maybe four people unless you cook veggies elsewhere for 8 people.

Super fun group cooking. Big hit with friends and family. Heats and cooks well. Easy to clean except the stones have stained quite easily and there is a hairline fracture in one that I don’t know where it came from. But love them anyway.
