Both pulleys were Koyo which is OEM but I did not inspect the parts until it was time to install. I assumed because they were new they would be in new condition. The belt was fine and the tensioner pulley was in good BUT the idler pulley was pitted so badly I decided it would be better to use the old idler pulley. I could feel the pits in the finish with my finger and determined that this could damage the belt. It was late on Saturday and I had to get the car finished. VERY DISAPPOINTED in the parts. Asking myself if I should have bought parts locally where they are easily exchangeable but a bit more expensive.

Very good quality timing belt kit for the PRICE!!! Was going to purchase this from the dealer I'm glad I didn't got this kit for less than half the price the dealer was going to charge me.

The bearings are Koyo, identical to the Honda parts, and the timing belt is of excellent quality and appears to rival the Honda belt quality at a much lower price. Great parts at the price. I bought this partial kit and not the complete kit that includes the hydraulic tensioner and water pump since I didn't know their source. I then purchased the Aisin hydraulic tensioner and water pump separately as I heard Aisin makes the parts for Honda. Cost a few dollars more this way, but I basically got parts equal to the Honda OEM quality at a much reduced price.

Gates as per my mechanic is a good company and has been an OE supplier from some cars makers as well. He is particular about parts he installs for his customers so he knows sometimes cheaper is not better and also he is aware of quality from manufacturing origins. He did note that this was China but we checked over everything (roll/play of bearings, belt consistency etc..) and it seems virtually identical to the OEM Honda parts we took out (of course except in new condition). Bearing were smooth, belt was tough with the same feel - minus the grime, fit and finish were just fine. So they are in and the truck is awesome again at 10 - 2-% cheaper than having a dealer do it. Keep in mind, there are "technicalities" when listing as "made in ------" . My understanding is that the label can be from the point of final assembly so many parts can be made in China but if final assembly was made in USA or where ever, then it can be labeled as such. Hence, knowing that nowadays almost everything is made in China, we physically checked over all the parts and made sure it felt quality. It would have cost a lot more to have the timing belt changed at Honda. The parts looks equivalent to the Oem parts I removed, everything fit perfectly and the car continues to run great. Changing the belt is relatively difficult to do, but it was a fun learning process and I saved a bunch of money too! The crankshaft bolt was stuck on and extremely hard to remove so if you plan to do this, prepare yourself for that. The rest was relatively straightforward. I also replaced the water pump and the same time.

fit and work great on my Odyssey 2003. The pulleys are OEM made by KOYO. The original belt looks in much better shape than I expected after 10 years. But replaced it anyway since it would be difficult to judge on its remaining life merely based on its appearance. I brought the separate AISIN water pump to go with this and I think it's better that way in both price and quality sense.

I purchased the Gates TCK286 timing belt kit for use on a 2002 Honda Odyssey. Kit includes timing belt, idler pulley, and tensioner idler pulley. Both idler pulleys seemed to be an exact match to the factory ones that I removed. In fact it almost appears that Gates supplies Honda with the idler pulleys. Everything fit as expected and fit perfectly. All seem to be of very high quality. I replaced these parts at 110k miles on my minivan. If you are debating whether to just do the belt or replace the pulleys as well, then I can tell you that the 2 pulleys I removed from the van at 110k miles had about 1/16" of side to side play in them. I highly recommend replacing both the pulleys and the belt together. I also replaced the water pump with a Gates brand pump as well. That seemed to be high quality as well. Very satisfied with the quality of Gates brand parts.
