Tensioner pulley has casting divet / rough spot crusted with rust. Ordered in May but didn't get to the install until August so unable to return as return window closed in June. Had to purchase replacement tensioner, $150.00 mistake by not thoroughly inspecting when received. Lesson learned, writing this review as advice to others not forget to thoroughly inspect upon receipt. 3 stars because everything about the order was good and I'm assuming a return would have been accepted if I had done so on time.

First, I am satisfied with the quality of the product so far. It has been installed and the motor actually even sounds better, has better throttle response.I replaced the timing belt with over 180000 miles according to the install sticker from the previous belt.Cycling the tensioner was kind of interesting, awkward bumps on the casting make for a difficult job in a machine vise tipped vertical. I used a small slug above the piston to get the offset, and angled the tensioner in the corner of the vise to miss the lumps on the bottom.Install on the car was straight forward, timing marks lined up proper. New pulleys were smooth and it came with threadlocker.Where I found question is the sticker. The previous sticker has Gates right there visible so anyone who looks under the hood can see what brand (quality) of timing belt is in there. The included sticker seems quite generic, although the only change is the branding. Seems they might not be so proud of this belt's quality, and don't want to advertise their product? Just my two cents worth.

Great product ! All the bearing and pulley are oem manufactured with the exception to the belt , but I do trust Gates with their belt , cost effective and great quality.Haven’t had any problems the Gates belts and I’ve been using them for years .

All the bearings in this kit are OEM, made in Japan. The tensioner body isn't stamped with anything, but is otherwise identical, and the tensioner that comes in Aisin kits looks to be identical, so maybe that's just how they are now, the tensioner bearing is still made by NTN, made in Japan though. The actual timing belt is Gates of course, and made in Mexico.

Make sure it has the n at the end of the part # if u want it to have japanese made bearings instead of Chinese..it's only a a few dollars difference in price.the belt is made in the USA but that's fine with me..
