I bought approx 6 ice picks to break down blocks of cocoa butter. Of all the ones purchased, this is the only one actually up for the task without damage. The others all ended up with bent forks, or handles which snapped off.(Didn't work well on ice, either)I definitely recommend this one - it's heavy and heavy duty, and worked reliably.

Excellent quality and easy to store. It is best tool to breakup ice whether in ice bucket, cooler or for bags of ice. Heavier weight makes easier to use without ice flying around when you beak it up.

Not going to lie, but I was amazed by this product. Design is beautiful and very effective when cutting ice. Now, the issue comes to its durability; it literally didn't last long until some pieces started to fall apart. I would say in less than 3 weeks it was gone. I tried reassembling it but seems a bit impossible because the nut does not crash into the hole to spin and click. It has rusted super fast.

Needed a new ice pick but wanted to get something more sturdy. This is perfect. Heavy duty, just what I was looking for.

This is still a very good ice pick but not as robust as the hammer/ice pick combination that they also sell. this is more appropriate for breaking up ice cubes which have "stuck" together rather than chipping off blocks of ice ongoing probably would work for that.. Still a very good value if you do not have to use it on very hard or block ice. still has good or better than any other similar device I have seen online. Just not as good as the hammer device that they sell.

Good quality and not flimsy. Very substantial and we use it daily.

We don’t have an ice maker so we buy bagged ice that often contains large pieces or cubes that have melted and then refrozen. This item is super well~made, very sturdy and has held up wonderfully over time. So pleased with it that I purchased a second one for our RV.

I repeatedly asked my wife, over the last 12-18 months, to stop filling the garage freezer so I could empty and defrost it. Eventually, I got tired of asking and, in an act of desperation, I thought I'd give this a try...WARNING: make sure that the ice you're attempting to remove is significantly thicker than the length of the spikes on this ice-pick. Otherwise, you run the risk of puncturing your freezer...The entire top-third of our freezer chest was surrounded with 4+ inches of ice per side. In about 15-20 minutes I was able to remove all of the ice, filling a 5 gallon paint bucket with some extra ice to spare, by holding the ice pick at a 45-degree angle and slapping the end of it with the palm of my hand as I worked my way around the freezer. The hardest part was removing the ice around the wired freezer basket, but that only required a little more patience and care than the rest of the freezer. After that, I was able to quickly melt the remaining ice attached to the wire basket by placing it in my sink and pouring hot water over it.
