Made out of riveted Aluminum stock, this is well designed, and well made! Includes louvers to keep the rain out, and 1/4" hardware cloth on the inside to keep out the birds. The gable end vent fan I installed last year has an 18" diameter output. My existing gable vent is 12" x 16". This one is the correct size for an 18" x 18" square opening. I will have to frame the opening for that size, and put in new "J" channel vinyl siding to match the new opening. Then I can take advantage of the full potential of the new attic gable vent fan I installed!

Put this in a garage as a cool air inlet for a attic/ceiling fan. It works welland seems sturdy for that purpose.But after a few weeks I noticed mouse turds on the floor below it and inside theduct work to it.It is over 2ft off the ground but they still get through the mesh.
