The aluminum beam that makes up the bar of this "48inch" bar clamp is cut at exACTly 48", so basically a ruler, & the mechanisms that are attached to this bar are not affixed so that the ends of the bar are between their clamping points/surfaces. On the contrary, the sliding brace part takes up a minimum of ~1" on the beginning end of the ruler, & the end that you twist/wind down to do the actual clamping takes up at least 1&3/8". All of that means that the 47.5inch cabinet(or whatever) you were planning to clamp will NOT fit in this "48inch" clamp! This has me feeling misled & I do NOT take kindly to what looks like purposefully misleading product information/marketing. ...& it's not like one could say that the 48" claim comes from the total length of the clamp either since the twisting/winding bit at the end of said 'ruler' takes the overall length to BEYOND that! Maybe I'm just unfamiliar with the industry, but that would NOT mean that it's NOT absolutely asinine to call this clamp, the maximum clamp-able length of which is only ~45.5", a 48" clamp instead of a 45" clamp. I canNOT be the only one with this opinion, & I can ONLY recommend these 48" clamps to you if what you need to clamp is 45.5" or less. I'll upload the unboxing & testing videos when I get 'em edited...

They're very functional, and easy to work with. Pretty lightweight aluminum, but the rod is steel. I wish there were a bit more sliding length than the 5 or so inches, but the ease of being able to move the end clamp makes it easy. Worth the price in my book.

These parallel clamps are decent if you match your expectations to what you're paying. They are not heavy duty, and they will not survive the brutal paces you could put your Bessey or Jorgensen parallel clamps through. They're decent for light to medium glue ups, but the open U design of the bar will cause flexing when you tighten the clamping screw. There's also a bit of slop in the connection between the stationary clamping jaw and the bar - the pin allows the jaw to jiggle forward and back. This doesn't necessarily affect the clamping pressure, but it looks like a potential place for the clamp to fail in the future. I was a little worried about the locking mechanism staying put under pressure, but I have not had any problems with it so far. Overall, it's a good investment for some light parallel work, but it definitely is not going to perform well under constant use or with heavy-duty jobs. Set your expectations for what you're spending, and you'll be happy with the performance.

I'm just a DIYer that has only one or two projects a year that would require this type of . That means that I use this type of tool only here and there. Thus, I don't enough experience to say how long these will last, but they didn't show any sign that it won't last for a while. They're very lightweight which I appreciate although that's also my concern. If I ever need to work on something that requires very sturdy clamps, will it still be able to handle it? Lightweight doesn't mean weak, so I'll see what happens then. I'm not worried about it right now.

These are lightweight clamps suitable for edge gluing panels together. the ruler really isn't that useful in my opinion since both ends of the clamp move depending on the placement of the piece you are clamping. The bar is u-channel style aluminum. It's sturdy enough for panel glue ups, unless you are one of those types that like to squeeze every ounce of glue out tightening your clamps. But if you use it properly, they work just fine. You could add some stability by placing a hardwood shaft into the channel, but it's probably unnecessary. My only issue is the price. For what they are, you can probably find the exact same style elsewhere. The advantage here is that they are shipped directly to you.

These clamps are identical to a set I already own and purchased from big blue import store many years ago, so I am very well acquainted with their quality and function. First of all, these clamps have some limitations, but do have a useful place among clamps. The good is, they are lightweight with somewhat rapid adjustment for length. I reach for them quite often for light to medium duty clamping. But here are some of my concerns about this style of clamp. The aluminum bar will flex if you demand too much clamping pressure out of it. That doesn't mean they won't do the job for smaller projects, they just have limitations. Next, one somewhat annoying feature of this clamp is the notches for rapid adjustment are an inch apart. That means that the final adjustment must be done with the screw down feature, and that in turn means you might need to take up as much as nearly an inch by hand tightening. That can be a bit unhandy if you are trying to hold things in place and need to get it clamped as quickly as possible. It is just the nature of the design and one feature that tends to annoy me. Regardless, I can and do use my clamps from time to time in spite of their shortcomings. As I previously mentioned these clamps are almost identical to the ones I already own and use, with two minor exceptions—the orange color (compared to blue) and the scale printed on the side, which in all honestly is completely useless. These clamps are ok, but they are not the best clamps I have in my collection. Probably the biggest concern I have is the price. $40 for a set of two 36" clamps. The same clamps can be bought down at big blue for $14 apiece ($28 for a set). The market is very competitive. I don't know how the vendor expects to sell many at this price when I cannot demonstrate them being superior product to their competitor. Sorry! Get competitive with the price and you might do some business.
